Goalie Stat iPhone/iPod Touch App

Post by Stryker908 »

Hi All-

Ugh trying to write this so it doesn't sound like a sales pitch, and so I don't sound like I'm about to offer you a Nigerian fortune is hard LOL!

I'm Nathan, I live in the Twin Cities, play hockey passionately and just released my first iPhone app for hockey players/coaches/parents. Its a free app that I developed in my spare time and what it does is track shots on goal, and calculates a goalies save % from that. Its called "iGoalie". Right now that is all it does, I am not a professional developer, I did this for fun and because I love hockey (and yes I'm a goalie).

As I said the app is free, so please download it, use it and let me know what would make it better...

On the list of imporovements
1) Better way to save games
2) More stats (GAA, season stats etc)
3) other improvements as identified by users.

If you have any questions my phone number is 612-208-9081 and my email is Nathan@strykeout.com

Please don't hesitate to contact me with suggestions or questions.

Here is the link to download my app from the Apple Store: itms://itunes.apple.com/us/app/igoalie/id385471297?mt=8

Thank you for your support,

Nathan Stryker

P.S. I hope this is ok to post here. I looked through the forum rules and did not see anything that forbid it. If it is against the rules please accept my apologies.

Thanks a lot! I fully intend on continuing to develop this app, actually I have already submitted the first revision (just a few bug fixes).

I have a whole list of improvements to make, stick with me, this will be a pretty awesome app by the time I'm done .. .(I hope) :)

Well some bad news today. I found out there is something wrong with the app...

There is no way last night I only stopped pucks at an 80% clip (49 shots) :p

Actually had my GF's daughter use the app and she had no problems at all!

The site has been updated with some screen shots of the new version. Thanks again for the support

Hey GetOver...

Thanks for the question.. I have it set so that if you receive a call or a text or what ever and you need to exit the app mid game that if you go back to it the stats will pick up where you left off.

That being said when the game is over, after you have gotten the info you need or you want to rest the app just double click the "home" button on your iPhone/iPad to bring up the "running" menu then tap and hold on any app until they begin to "giggle" you will see a red "-" symbol above all of the apps. click the one for iGoalie to close it and your all set for your next game...

Version 1.2 has been submitted to Apple as of today which includes a "reset" button to make this process easier...

As I stated in the beginning I will add to this app as time goes on, so if you have any suggestions please feel free to send me an email Nathan@strykeout.com or give me a call 612-208-9081

I live in the "state of hockey" and even if the Wild happen to be in a rebuilding decade I want to make this the best hockey app available for the "i" devices.

Thanks again for your time!

I am happy to announce that the good people at Apple have just informed me that version 1.1 is now available. This new version has the following updates:
Minus Goal
Minus Save
RESET !!!! (With confirmation)

You should be able to update your version by clickingitms://itunes.apple.com/us/app/igoalie/id385471297?mt=8

Regards,
Stryker

Thank you to everybody that has downloaded this, as of today there have been close to 200 people that are using the app on a regular basis.

I like it. Very useful.

My suggestions:
1. Add a way to keep track of more than one goalie with names
2. Add a way to save more than one game
3. With 1 and 2 make it so you can see a graph or a table of stats for each goalie.

Those are the things I'd like to see. Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing this app develop.
