Blaine getting some kids from Hill Murray and Coon Rapids
I heard Blaine is getting a few kids from Hill Murray and up to 4 open enrollment kids from Coon Rapids?
Any truth to this or is it just another rumor?
If so, they are going to be pretty good in a few years again based on these transfer kids.

Technicality
Technically, if they are going from Coon Rapids to Blaine, it's not "open enrollment," since the two schools are in the same school district and the open enrollment law deals with transfers between two districts.

Re: Technicality
From what I know 3 of the players from CR are going into 10th grade went to CR in 9th grade so technically this would be classified as open enrollment and they cannot play varsity this season at Blaine?hockeydad wrote:Technically, if they are going from Coon Rapids to Blaine, it's not "open enrollment," since the two schools are in the same school district and the open enrollment law deals with transfers between two districts.

Sounds like when you say "quite a few" are leaving Hill for Blaine there isn't going to be much left at Hill. If, that's the case the CR players will be looking for a spot on the Junior Gold teamdingle wrote:Is Hill losing more then just the one player from there JV team last year? Heard there might be quite a few leaving for Blaine.

Heinrich from HM is going to Blaine. He made the Select 15 team out to New York.
Word from a good source says he is staying at Hill...
Seconded.
Just a thought
- are these possibilities a student athlete or family may find after their 1st year at a private high?
1. it is to much academically for me to handle
2. the drive from home to school and back every day is to much
3. the hockey team is too good, and i would play more at home
I don't think it is uncommon to hear about a top end team at a private school losing some players after a year. In some cases the writing is on the wall. No matter how good they are, they are probably getting more ice and perhaps more breaks at the community high school.

Huge mistake if it's true.... Players seem to fade into oblivion after going to Hill.Reg7 wrote:Word from a good source says he is staying at Hill...mghockey18 wrote:Heinrich from HM is going to Blaine. He made the Select 15 team out to New York.
Made the National 15 team along with two of his Blaine teammates. You would think it would be a easy choice.
Blaine might have a slight down year and then watch out the next few.

Even though a couple of these players made the 15's projecting the future can be an illusion. Players develop and grow at different rates and when they become High School athletes size does matter. One of these players has the potential of becoming an excellent player, but size will be a issue down the road playing in this tough conferenceMrBoDangles wrote:Huge mistake if it's true.... FYI-Heinrich is from Cambridge and likes going to Hill according to my source. The coaching staff really likes him and even if he fades into oblivion, he has a better chance of winning a state title in the next few years at Hill then he would at Blaine...just my opinion but records speak for themselves...MrBoDangles wrote:Huge mistake if it's true.... Yes, Norling is already down from Cambridge and he could of possibly played with two other future teammates in NY.Reg7 wrote:FYI-Heinrich is from Cambridge and likes going to Hill according to my source. Blaine has been just as strong or stronger the last 10 years and have put out tons more D-1 players in that time span. Facts are facts

Hill will probably be better this season and then watch for Blaine again after that
Maybe there is new info...... The last I heard was that they were going to be teammates for sure.
