Machine tournament Schedule
My understanding is that the machine teams have been very practice focused in the past. This year they have 7 tournaments this year. One of which is the Warrior Cup. I can't figure out why a top level invite team would play in that tournament. Not a knock on that tournament at all, just not a good fit for that team.
Tournaments are:
Nike Bauer Chicago
Independent
Subway Winnipeg
Las Vegas AAA
Easton Cup
Caribou CUP
STARS AND STRIPES
Thoughts?

Re: Machine tournament Schedule
Just a guess, but maybe they scheduled tournaments like the Warrior Cup to give their practice players a chance to participate in some games.EnjoyTheShow wrote:My understanding is that the machine teams have been very practice focused in the past. Pulled out of the Meltdown to go to Chicago (didn't want to play Blades). Las Vegas is a weeklong tournament (Bernie in Sin City, now I've seen it all). It's a very expensive summer for the boy's in orange. At least the Stars and Stripes tournament is FREEEnjoyTheShow wrote:My understanding is that the machine teams have been very practice focused in the past. So are you saying that Bernie or someone from the Machine teams saw that the Blades were in the Meltdown and they pulled out because they were too scared to play them?High Off The Glass wrote:Pulled out of the Meltdown to go to Chicago (didn't want to play Blades). You're right though I bet the expense is really up there. That's a lot of traveling.

I doubt that the 99 Machine is dodging the 99 Blades by not playing in the Meltdown. Those two teams seem to have a pretty healthy respect for each other and like to compete against each other. They probably just wanted to go to Chicago for a good tournament.

Kinda funny how "The Alliance" was to draw the outsiders into the Orange fold. At least that's the original intentions. Now that hasn't worked out.
So the "rest" of the AAA teams start the Warrior Cup & Caribou Cup. These two tournies have done a great job with the "outcasts".
Now the 99 Machine is in the Warrior Cup???? Alot of pride & ego here folks & we all know what pride leads to!

Re: Machine tournament Schedule
Just imagin between his Fire and Machine teams what some of the families have shelled they must really believe BM when he tells them that 1 in 6 of his players go onto D1 hockey what a joke. As for not wanting to play the Blades who knows more likly just like Chicago better or it because the Blades elected to not defend there title in the Star's and Stripes which BM has posted that they won in his brochure.HockeyDad41 wrote:So are you saying that Bernie or someone from the Machine teams saw that the Blades were in the Meltdown and they pulled out because they were too scared to play them?High Off The Glass wrote:Pulled out of the Meltdown to go to Chicago (didn't want to play Blades). That's too many tournaments. And, 3 out of towners. No thanks.
Seems like we have a lot of teams making trips to Chicago to play their top teams but I don't see the Chicago teams traveling to Minnesota with anywhere near the same frequency. I know Chicago also hosts some tourneys that are considered among the best. Just say no to Chicago and maybe we can get them to travel here. Maybe it's because they've already spent $20,000 on their season, with several trips, and most of our teams and families haven't spent anywhere near that.

Re: Machine tournament Schedule
Each Machine team has different events. I doubt a single team is playing in every one of these tournaments. One of the Machine teams is playing in 5 tournaments, they are.....EnjoyTheShow wrote:My understanding is that the machine teams have been very practice focused in the past. As far as I know the 99 Machine is in the Warrior tourney.
Here it is, right from their webpage:
,“The Machine” quickly became one of the top '96 teams in North America. They have made it to the championship game of every '96 tournament they have ever played in both in the US and Canada. They have won every tournament but one.
I don't know if "lying" is the right word but this is NOT the truth. See if the 96 team even got into the final game in Winnipeg & Calgary last summer....NOPE!
Honesty???

Probably more an issue of needing to update the site. You left off the rest of the quote.puttingonthefoil wrote:As far as I know the 99 Machine is in the Warrior tourney.

[With the same development strategy and focus as with 88s,“The Machine” quickly became one of the top '96 teams in North America. They have made it to the championship game of every '96 tournament they have ever played in both in the US and Canada. They have won every tournament but one. It wasn’t long and we were approached by many families about getting that same kind of training for their players. Since then, we have added Machine teams at most all levels and in 2006 started a second AAA club using this same training model. Now in 2008 we have added two more AAA clubs bringing the total to 4 AAA clubs.]
I'm guessing that the 96 record cited was through 2007, based on the "now in 2008" language.
Not a big deal.
