Lou Nanne the voice of Minnesita Hockey
Lou Nanne the voice of Minnesota hockey can broadcast as long as Lou wants too. I've been watching the state tourney since in 1982, and Lou has been a part of eveyone of them. It will be a sad day when he walks away. When I think of the Minnesota State Hockey Tournament I think of the glass boards at the Civic Center, WCCO's coverage, great high school hockey, and the voice of Lou Nanne. Can't wait to hear Lou again next year!

He is good to listen too but the stories in general need to go. I prefer the Hockey Day MN coverage by FSN where they actually go into the schools, go into hockey at all levels and really talk about why hockey is what it is to MN. I must have seen that story about the big city high schools not being in the tourney a dozen times. 1 time, sure. Twice to make sure lots of people see it, sure. A dozen, come on, then it is just a time filler/killer. That girl who kept getting concussions was the same way. I have had kids with concussions and realize how important it is to prevent them (interesting though that not once was the fact that you have to have a good mouth guard properly fitted mentioned) but that M11 project video got old too. If you want to do a story on concussions, do one, mention the mouth guard, mention the helmet, show case the M11, but the looped infomercial for it is another filler. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind seeing that old, grainy, black and white footage of the good old days of hockey but they need to update the program to get it in touch with the high schools that are involved and with current events in MN hockey.

It is about money and advertisements, Duh. If you want nostalgia the go on the internet. 45 TV will show the game otherwise hit the mute button and do your own commentary. No Political Connections wrote:He is good to listen too but the stories in general need to go. I am saying the opposite. I do not mind the nostalgia about the good old days but how about some more new stuff. How about a few minutes of video about the Mr Hockey finalists? How about a short story on something else to do with MN hockey. I just think that hearing and seeing the same stuff over and over and over got old. Add some flavor to it with some more current stuff.wingmaster wrote:It is about money and advertisements, Duh. That is on the producer of the TV coverage of the tourney. Lou's job is to do commentary of the games. Lou does what he does, it's not his fault that 45 was obviously operating on a shoestring budget. No Political Connections wrote:I am saying the opposite. They had no original video, everything they did between periods was old stuff on file. That tells me they had no money for anything.

You guys this is a no brainer regarding the advertisements that were on. Without the m11 project commercials it would have been difficult to broadcast the games. Like it or not this is the reason why we get to see the games on TV. Nostalgia doesn't pay for the broadcasting. I will put up with the advertisements as long as they continue to keep the games on TV.
