mv vs hill
Obviously mv is the underdog here but as of lately they are playin their best hockey and all it takes is a couple chances the question is do they have a chance?

One of Hill-Murray's strengths this year has been their depth, their ability to not have to rely on one line or player to produce, but rather expect production from multiple lines.
Now that we're getting into the meat of the section tournament, and into state, we'll get to see just how deep they really are.
Hill - 5
MV - 1

I'm not really a fan of conferences. I'm just basing it off of the fact that Tartan and Hill usually play each other pretty close and North played two close games against Hill this year also.BodyShots wrote:Must be a Classic Suburban fan.codyy33 wrote:As much as it kills me to say this, I don't think Mounds View stands a chance.
I think Tartan or NSP were the two teams most capeable of beating Hill and they're both gone.

I can see why you think this way,
Hill vs
Tartan - 2 wins total score 7-0 Hill
North - 2 wins total score 9-6 Hill
and these were the 4th and 5th place team in CSC or some where in there with SSP. Man, those were some competitive games.

I would say The "Traditional Rivalry" is WBL/Hill.
But due to the amount of Stillwater kids on the Hill roster this year and last I would say the ideas of that match-up is more of an "Emotional Rivalry" There is some genuine dislike between a few of these kids but for the most part they are civil of ice with each other.
The Hill/WBL rivalry will be stronger again in the next couple of years as the JV has more WBL kids then the other Hill Murray Recruiting areas. The same will be when the next group of Woodbury kids gets in the mix next year.

Hate to pin it on one player, but Dylan Culver will have to play the game of his life in goal for the 'Stangs. MV cannot afford to play short-handed. H-M will eat them alive.
I missed H-M's first 1.5 periods versus Como, but H-M got 19 shots in the first period with only one goal, and it was just 3-0 with about 5-6 left in the second, before H-M scored two more to end the period. They just wore down Como's netminder.
H-M skated all four lines, from what I saw, and the first 3 are awfully balanced.
Culver can expect 35 shots minimum.

Wolter is a good player but he isn't a huge game changer.Northsider wrote:Maybe the public school could have a better chance to actually do this if their best player hadn't abandoned ship to go to that other public school down the road to the east.wbhockey02 wrote:I'm going against the grain.

Solid amount but you have to remember that's on a line with Birkinbine and Wahlin.
Always celly hard.

Funny thing is he's attacking another HM fan, if Sachi wasn't only lurking in the background waiting to pounce on other posters maybe he'd know that.got some wrote:I didn't realize shoreview had a high school!sachishi4 wrote:wait are you saying he isnt playing for his hometown?! True enough!prospector wrote:this post looks alot like the post MV vs Tartan and we know how that game ended. If the Stangs can stay out of the box and Culver plays a GREAT game, it'll be CLOSE nobody would have thought MV would have beaten WB NSP or Tartan this year but here we are
Go 'Stangs!

Always celly hard.
