(#6) USA (2-0) vs. (#1) Canada (2-0) 2-21-10 6:00pm

Canada the heavy favorite to win this game, but Canade recently needed a shootout to beat a Swiss team the USA beat in regulation. Good luck to both teams, I know I'll be watching at 6.

Yeah, yeah, I know this isn't a high school game...but there's no Olympic Forum, so this works 8)

Yeah please don't lock this thread!

Obviously most of us will be rooting for USA. I just don't know if USA's defense will be able to hold up to the speed an tenacity of Canada's forwards.

USA goalies are looking great, but we'll see if they can stack up to the snipers!
Always celly hard.

WBLhockeyfan8...... this is the second greatest hockey rivalry, eh?? WBL v H-M is #1....

Unfortunately for us, my main man, we are on the bad side of both. However, since USA makes up 3/4 my name, this is the team I give my highest support.

Canada 5-1.

I think USA definitely has the speed to skate with the Canadians, but they can't take as many chances pinching in defensemen in the offensive zone like they did against Switzy, and Norway. They've given up way too many odd man rushes, and Canada WILL capatilize on a number of ones that Norway and Switzerland could not if given the opportunity. I don't think Miller will have to be as great as Hiller was the other night, but I think Canada will be too much today for the americans.

Gee..... exactly like our WBL club, eh??

Looks like MSNBC will be carrying the game, according to my Comcast Channel 70 TV listing. I do not know if that is carried on a smaller scale, but for the love of goodness, how can that not be the main item shown on regular NBC HD??

This Olympic coverage is crap. Can anyone get any of the other games, like the Ruski's vs Checkers?? Three great rivalry matchups today.

I am sorry, but I may have to get banned after this comment.

I just flipped on MSNBC to see if the other games are on... and what is on? Women's curling.......

It looks like thet are doing their chores at home, like getting the house ready for company, with the brooms in their hands....

Russians vs. Czechs at 2 on NBC.

Finland vs. Sweden at 11pm on MSNBC or CNBC, not sure.

How is USA vs. Canada not at least on USA HD?

USA vs Canada and Finland vs Sweden are on MNBC. Apparently NBC thinks Speed skating, freestyle skiing, and bobsledding is more important than USA vs Canada hockey....

Hey they are playing Canada in front of a crowd of 6,000. The women are all from either Minnesota or Wisconsin and the whole Men's team is from Minnesota, mostly Northern MN. Give them some respect.

I'm not to happy about NBC's coverage either, apparantly figure skating is more important than US vs Can . Just goes to show you where hockey ranks, it's pretty sad. It definitly hurts not having ESPN on your side.

Yeah well I've seen more figure skating than I ever want for the rest of my life.... ridiculous what NBC decides to broadcast on "NBC." I have enjoyed the little bit of curling I watched just because its something new and it has a local angle....and who didn't watch just a little longer when that Denmark Women's team played????.... anyway, I fell asleep about halfway through all of the curling matches I have watched.
As for the hockey:
Team USA has a few things going for them: They are young and ...call it... naive... not in a bad way though... They likely will go into the game not really caring what is supposed to happen...
Team Canada has the pressure...obviously...
My pick:
USA 5
Canada 4

I don' t think that USA will hold Canada to fewer goals....

I guess there's a reason the Danes are the happiest people on earth...

I'm paying some attention to the mens' curling because I went to high school with Chris Plys. Fun to see connections like that.

Also, the Norwegian team's pants are...um...interesting.

But as for the hockey game...Canada 4-2. :(

Not that I personally disagree, but there are regions of the country that could care less about this game.

What I do think is funny is that NBC has the 2pm Russia/Czech Republic game, but not the one the US is in. Quite dumb.

I get it on MSNBC HD at 6pm.

BD... I will give them the respect that they deserve, as because they a) wouldn't be curling if they didn't enjoy doing it and b) they are the best in the world at it..

I can't sneeze at 6,000 spectators, but there are 80,000-100,00 people who watch NASCAR, too.... It's just my opinion, on an opinion forum, that I prefer to not watch them....

But I will give them more respect, and an apology, because I thought the men's hockey started at 11 a.m., and I wasn't happy that curling was on ahead of Alex Ovechkin.
