Everything I've ever heard about the man says he's a class act. With that in mind, I can't see him jumping ship from Omaha to come to the U after only one year.

I heard that when he signed with Omaha he demanded a clause in his contract saying he could leave them for only 1 team, the Gophers. If the U offers him a big contract, he'll jump ship from Omaha faster than Lane Kiffin from Tennessee.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. If you have ever seen the man coach, you know that he's got what it takes to be a national champion wherever he goes. OutstAnding coach.

I know VERY WELL what he does and have seen it many, many times. He does get results - thru the use of goon-style hockey. He had NO national championship in Columbus . . . . . . . . . . . . And he still is NO Herb Brooks !

Goon Hockey? Classic gopher fan response. Blais hockey was not the same as Gino hockey. Go look at the 2000 year stats when UND won their last championship. UND was #2 in the nation in scoring and #3 in goal scoring margin.

Now if he teaches his players to lay a good check ... what is wrong with that?

Typical response from a "Sioux" fan - or should I say "Fighting Sux", "Fighting Sue" the "Fighting Who" ? Guess we'll have to wait & see.

Sorry. 25 year season ticket holder of the MINNESOTA GOPHERS !!!! :D :D

I respect Blais and his ability to coach players to their best. He also was a solid recruiter, pulling MN born blue chippers to ND ... He just may replace Lucia in the next couple years.

Which would be ideal for the Gophers, or should I say Goofers, since they aren't having that great of a season!

Uh, last time I checked UND hasn't done that much more than UM this season and Hakstol has done nothing but lose in the NCAAs.

How many of you actually read the article?

I had a chance to get to know Herb Brooks a bit during my time at the Minnesota Hockey Camps and I see a lot of Brooks in Blais.

We have an article written by someone knowing both men, and making a general statement.. How many of you have met and spoken to both of the coaches in question?

I haven't met either of those men, but it sounds like they have similar coaching traits as well as holding similar positions across their career.

Good luck to Team USA!

Get on topic. Hakstol has nothing to do with Blais.
