Good Summer Program for 10U??

Post by hockeydad2010 »

Looking for a good summer program for my 10U. She does Dianne Ness and that is great, but it is only for 1 week.

I am looking for something where she can skate 1-2 times a week over the whole summer and still have time to play fastpitch.

Anyone know of some good programs??

It depends where you live as most regions of the metro have something to offer you. I'm a fan of Minnesota Made "Summer of Ice." It's just once a week but keeps the girls on their skates all summer instead of a single week.

At U10 you should assess the talent level and interest in summer skating of your daughter. Be honest.

Nearly every rink has locally run summer camps that are often as good as the big name programs and usually offer it at a lower cost. Talk to other parents, talk to the rink manager, talk to the program director (coach) of the local rink camp.

Especially in summer, adding extra drive time to the summer camp experience becomes draining when her friends want to meet at the pool or elsewhere.

Balance with summer sports too.
