I think Blaine is the top team as of right now after knocking off Thief River Falls 7-4, but Anoka also just shut out Hastings 3-0. Maple Grove, Osseo, and Wayzata are all capable of beating anyone though also. Looks like this section is just as tough as years past.

anoka beats hastings

Post by mrdangles »

i caught a hastings scrimmage about a week ago. they played red wing, who as of this first week of the regular season looks to be a solid team. hastings took the scrimmage 7-1. red wing did play their 3rd string goalie the entire scrimmage and skated what looked to be 4 lines and 6 d, and now are only skating 3 lines 4 d. still a very good hastings team. good offense and jared stewart looked very impressive. if anoka blanked this team they are definitely playing solid hockey.

Blaine, Hastings

I think this section will come down to Blaine and Hastings. Blaine will end up winning the section. They can score a lot of goals, Hastings can't. I really like this section though, interesting teams.

Hastings is in 2AA...all the more reason Blaine will win the section. And to clear up the Hastings not scoring a lot, they played greenway. They only got one against Hibbing.

Anoka

I think Anoka will have a good chance this year. They have a lot of the A bantams from last year stepping in and doing very well. Look for O'neal, Belisle, and Petersen to really step up and put points on the board.

Armstrong

How do people think Armstrong will fair? I see they beat Maple Grove the other night. It seems like they have at least one really good line.

Armstrong will do okay. They will finish above .500 and finish in the top half of the section.

armstrongs 1st line is really good, 2 kids have 12 points each and the other has 6, all in 5 games... They 2nd and 3rd line are also solid. Armstrong has just as good of a shot at winning the section as any other team
