logo/icon

Post by gr19 »

Hey admins, is there a way to make the icon next to our username larger? Why are they so small?

Use the web address of the picture like, <a href="http://www.section7hockey.com/images/lo ... is an example.

It would be cool if everyone had their own logo next to their username, but they'd have to be monitored to keep porn and other garbage off the site.

I'm not sure what you mean. How do you acquire your own logo or how do you put on next to your username like I did? If it's how do you get your own, that's your problem. Maybe scan a logo or find one on the net. You can use pictures too, any image that's on a web page.

To put an imgage (even though it's super tiny) next to your username you have to login to your account.

How To

Post by EREmpireStrikesBack »

Go to My Control Center and then Account Preferences and in the Posting & Messaging portion there is one that says Use Personal Icon URL. Check the box and put in the URL of the image that you wish to use. To find the URL, right click on the image and go to properties and then just copy the location.

PM me or post in here if you have any problems/questions and I'll try to help you out.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

The size is set to 10x10 pixels, by default. It's an admin option which Mitch set up a long time ago. The other option (I believe is 60 x 60) would be too large, imo.

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005

Actually, if the option is 10 x 10 or 60 x 60, lets go with 60 x 60. 10 x 10 is way to small. You can't even tell what it is.

60x60 would be so huge though. That's part of what I like about here is that the forums aren't dominated by avatars.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

Just My Opinion

Post by EREmpireStrikesBack »

Those are few and far between. Post pictures all you want, but if everyone has a 60x60 avatar it gets old going down super far to see the post you want.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

The issue with posting pics would be a bandwidth issue; folks who have dial-up have to wait for the pics to load unless they have them turned off in their browser's preferences. That's a bit of a pain.

It's something that needs to be considered by Mitch and I, and I see (and essentially agree with) this point, GR.

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
