The easiest answer to that question is that you generally see these same 5 or 6 teams competing for the State title EVERY year.

It may be the easiest answer, but not necessarily the correct answer. Since 2001 Centennial played in the State Championship game 6 times, Wayzata, Eden Prairie,Edina, Wayzata and W.B.L. all 2 times. I agree with Max the next 5 teams would be much tougher to pick.

Centennial will be young this year, and the coaching staff has changed hands, and they weren't very good as peewees... i wouldn't be surprised if they miss the tourney again this year.

The question wasn't which two teams do you expect to play in the championships, but what are the top 5 teams. While you're right that that group of teams may not have been in the final game, they are GENERALLY always included in that top 5 discussion. Another indicator is to go back to years to see how this kids did when they were A PeeWees...although, you also need to be aware that some of the best 9th graders may leave those Bantam teams to play HS.

Duluth East will be asked to the prom again! They have a very good staff that gets the pick of the area, kids/parents want to play for them. Look for Elk River...one word- TOUGH!

So my pick DE vs LOSER!

DE defeating LOSER 5-1

Don't for for a fact, but I've heard there might be a few....Will Besse be back at Wayzata?

Ah, dad, you might want to wait for tryouts.

I don't think "dad" has anything to do with it...I could easily see Besse step into virtually any varsity roster this season. Let me put it this way, if Besse is back at Wayzata, it's because he wants to be back.

Right, I'm Besse's dad. You've got me pegged.

Like Muck said, the only way he'll be at the Bantam level is if he wants to...he'll be able to play in the top 3 lines at BSM.

Looks pretty good though, CNF.

You might want to sneak EGF in there somewhere. They were in the state tourney last year in PeeWees and had both their A and B team in the state tourney for PeeWees this year.

Chuck do not let the haters keep you from posting your weekly list, you do such a great job of ranking.

Do you still think Maple Grove will be top 10 with out Jake coaching. I know they have a deep association to pick from but a quality coach (and it being a non-parent coach with no ties to people) can make a difference.

You can probably switch Elk River and Maple Grove in the rankings since Jake is now coaching in Elk River :o
