They are looking for a new coaching staff. I haven't heard that anyone has been hired yet.

Sounds like Larson will not be offered the job; they're interviewing another candidate soon.

Yes. Four applicants at River Lakes. Craig Larson, Jeff Melby, and two others that reportedly were in over their heads. Job went to Melby (previously a part-time assistant) because 6 of the 7 ADs involved heard such negative things about Larson. Too bad for the power mongers (small group of nerds that feel the need to control everything and fight their kids' battles) in the north half of the co-op--Larson was their man, but their plan backfired! Good luck River Lakes and Jeff Melby!

Good luck to RL

Wow, another program that has no clue, apparently.
As I remember from some of his former players that played for him, Larson was well liked. By even the ones that didn't go Div I. Thats from the players, of course and not the parents. But most of them liked him too. As far as the negatives.....I'd sure like to hear what those might be. Aside from him maybe not sticking around because he's looking to coach at higher levels.
Its seems that I've heard he left Apollo because he couldn't get a full time teaching job. Also the Lumberjacks thing was to good to pass up. Well kind of. Juniors in this town is a joke anyway, when there's a Div I program anyway.

But good luck to RL. You probably hired the one you "CAN" control, because you couldn't tell Larson how to coach.

Good luck RL

Amen to that. Don't know how you can improve a program if you don't hire the most qualified candidate!

Pretty easily. If the most qualified candidate isn't the right fit for the organization and the direction it is trying to head.

I guess the people of a program that has little or no experience, is able to make better decsions. It just makes sense to have someone with experience. Goldy, maybe you'd be the right guy. You seem to know a lot about the game or at least it sounds as though u do. I'm still an outsider lookin in. Just saw a familar name and figured I'd chime in. Really made no difference to me. But good luck to the new coach.
