Quite a tournament in Waseca this past weekend... lots of close and exciting games. By the time the play-in game was played on Sunday evening, it was obvious that both teams were tired (New Prague had played a 4-ot 3rd place game with New Ulm Sunday morning and Owatonna suffered an emotional loss to Albert Lea in the championship)... which begs the question - does it make more sense to cram it in on one weekend or to break it up into 2 (a la D10)? Obviously there are geographical challenges involved, but is it really fair to allow these young athletes such little recovery time? At the very least, if they're going to cram it into one weekend, shouldn't they have all 8 teams play Friday so nobody has to play two games on the very first day of the tournament?
Don't sweat the small stuff.
It's all small stuff.
It's all small stuff.

SHAKE IT UP!!
Big shake ups in district play. Teams with good coaching will prevail most of the time over equally skilled teams, coaching is key down the stretch. I like Maht-Blue, Edina, EP-black (if still in it), Owatonna, Proctor, Cent.R and on the outside looking in... N.Metro, Prince, New Prag.
Sorry if I missed any of the obvious, but these are my likes. Good luck teams heading into Regions.
Dont forget the foil!

New Prague is out, along with Pequot. We will have a new State Champion!MoveYourFeet wrote:Big shake ups in district play. Winner of Tartan-Highland Red will be #1 seed coming out of League 1. Both these teams are on a roll. Tartan beat both Mahtomedi teams in the District bracket.MoveYourFeet wrote:Big shake ups in district play.
