EP versus Jefferson

Post by Lakeviewing »

I can't believe no one has started this blog. Who wins. EP lost at Jefferson 2-1 at BIG early. Sorry, no visitor teams wins at BIG against Jefferson. They dominate at home. This is a landmark game for this season for both teams in the Lake. Jefferson is visiting the controlled EP arena. If EP wins, will prove Jefferson is slighlty overrated. If Jefferson wins, they will prove their top five ranking, no doubt. EP needs to take the physical part of the Jefferson game. Shut down their 1st line and roll against their 2nd and 3rd lines. EP needs to stay out of the penalty box and score goals on the power play. Should be a very good game on 2-10-2008.

Lakeviewing is right on. This is a very important match up and could potentially answer many questions. Both teams are very good and have a lot to prove at this important point in the season.

Should be a great game. Minnesota - no need for comments like yours - you need to show a little respect. Anyone know if the game is being broadcast??

You would think FSN would want to cover this game instead of Wayzata and Buffalo. It might be on MyFoxHockey im not sure..

This should be a very good game but with EP giving up 6 goals to Burnsville recently I am doubting them. Jefferson should be able to use their depth and smother Leddy and the gang but we will have to see.

Jefferson 3
Ep 1

Caleb Herbert will stand out.

Have you seen B'ville 1st line. They can score. I will take Jefferson. They are the deepest team i've seen so far this year.

Not impressed with Burnsville - never have been so good point about EP. Agree that Caleb Herbert will stand out. Great player!! Also agree they should've televised this game. It should be fun to watch. Wayzata - Buffalo will not get 1/2 the viewing audience. Hope it's on MyFoxHockey. Still think it will be a close game.

I'm affraid I don't quite understand all the hype about Jefferson. To date they have played 3 top 20 teams in EP who they beat 2-1, Wayzata who they beat 3-2 and Moorhead who the beat 4-3 in OT. They still have to play Eagan, that would make a total of 4 top 20 teams. They have not played, Edina, Centennial, Maple Grove, Duluth East..... I realize they are limited to the number of non-conference games they can play but their schedule is not not all that challenging. PS2 has their scheule at 17 in strength of schedule.

Your contribution wasn't worth the time it took to write it. I'm well aware the coach has nothing to do with the rankings.

This game will be close I would pick Jefferson but, if Siiro isn't playing I might have to give EP the nod.

With Siiro
Jefferson 4
EP 1

Without Siiro
EP 2
Jefferson 1

haha!!! good one redfire!
and coaches are polled for star trib and Lets Play Hockey rankings, so he stuck you with a good burn. Also, there are about 20 other threads about if Jefferson is over-rated, head there and chat with the intelligence of HShockeywatcher.

To touch on the topic of EP vs. Jfferson. This is going to be a good game. Jefferson and EP seem to be giving up an unusual ammount of goals lately. This game will come down to Defense I think. I am excited to hear about the Leddy vs. Faust defensive showdown.

This game, IMO, could go either way, but Jefferson is more experienced so maybe that will be the difference.

I would expect another low scoring game both teams have solid defensman. Third goal might be an empty net.

Jefferson has an outside chance to go into the playoffs undefeated, as well as giving up less than 30 goals on the season, that is quite a feat in itself.
Now, with that being said, I am not going to predict the low-scoring game that everyone else is expecting. I think there will be a few pucks put in the net in this one. Jefferson for the first time gives up more than 3, but still wins.

In The first Matchup Ep overplayed Leddy and he looking completly out of gas. Ep would be wise to give him a bit more rest this time around.

That being said the loss of AJ Sirro really hurts the Jaguars, I thought he was one of if not the best foreward on the team this season. However, if Jefferson's D-men can play like they did in the first meeting the Jaguars should control the play and come out with the W.

Look For Big games from Joe Faust and Jeff Pauluk

May I ask what happened to Siiro?

Is he really worth a four goal swing like you predicted?

edit: forgot to mention that he dislocated his shoulder

siiro anchors the line with all of the seniors on it (first? second?) and leads the team in goals, close second in points behind herbert. he's really been the scoring leader for that line all season and TJ gallus is going to have to come up big and play well to fill his void, because this hurts jefferson depth quite a bit.

then again, maybe dan faust will finally get a chance to prove himself that lindquist is wrong for not playing him by stepping up and playing with his fellow seniors. of course, its really depends on what lindquists decides on doing

jefferson had 30 more shots then EP last game not as close as the score showed my bet sirro plays and the jags win by at least one not saying the score though game of the year so far as far as implications go...section seedings hard to put jefferson ahead of edina if they lose since edina had beaten them twice.
faust comes up big again and gets the winner like the stud he is

This will be an intense and grinding game for both teams. I will go with E.P. just because I think they are evenly matched and it is E.P.'s turn at home.

If I were Lindquist, I could care less if the Jags won this game... they already have the #1 seed locked up. I'd play my 3rd and 4th lines a little more and rest my big guns a bit. EP is playing better every week so along with the aforementioned, I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles pulled out a victory.
