Keep the Mellin family in your prayers
During the 2nd period of the East/Century game tonight, Kenny Mellin of East tripped on a stick and fell head first into the boards. He ended up being carried off in a stretcher. He was moving his arms and legs, so this is positive.
Hopefully a speedy recovery.

OK. Any idea as to why Arbour and Cooper didn't play (and let's move this to the scores thread, since this is not the place to be discussing the game).EHSHack wrote:It wasn't a bad loss. We started a sophomore in goal, played without Kenny Mellin (for about 2 periods) and Joe Arbour, and kids weren't playing with their normal line mates. It was a loss that I wasn't happy about for sure, but it wasn't like we played the normal lineup tonight.

I saw Kenny Mellin at the East vs Roch Mayo game yesterday. The report is he blacked out on the ice for a few seconds, had neck pains so they called the ambulance to make sure there wasnt any additional injuries. After being on the ice about 10 minutes Kenny wanted to get up and told the Medical people he was fine. He went to the hospital for x-rays and everything appeared ok. He is in a neck brace that he is suspose to wear for 10 days. Upon hearing that info Kenny said "no way". It appears everything turned out as well as could be hoped for. Lets hope for a speedy recovery Kenny is a great kid with a great family who brings a lot to his team (this point being very secondary). He did not break his collar bone. There was an eerie silence in the building for 25 minutes after the injury as no one ever wants to see these types of injuries. No excuses but it made the remainder of the game not so important.
