White Bear always has a good club, but Hill's is usually better.

Owen still can't beat Hill-Murray since he left HM his freshman year.

WB-3
HM-2

This new sophmore is about to get his new start at "the big stage"
WB vs Hill is arguable the biggest rivalry in state, and packs in Aldrich where you have to stand back by the ticket counters. I dont think he will handle the pressure, and Owen's beein doin it a couple years now...
losing is still far from optional

That hasn't happened since the early 90's when Brian Bonin played for White Bear.

Its a great rivalry no doubt, the schools hate each other and so do the hockey teams. White Bear may last a period and a half or so on emotion and energy, but they just cant match up with the talent that Hill has.

So what if he was exaggerating a LITTLE. He was trying to make a point. It will be a packed house. Even if people aren't standing by the ticket booths - it will be a packed arena.

Just because we lost doesn't mean he didn't handle the pressure well and it sure as hell doesn't mean he didn't do a great job. You just love to hate white bear, komada, because "we're better than you".

= it's a tough game to call, but i'll pray for my bears.

Hill Murray will beat the bears 5-2. As far as shaughnessy goes. He did fine against Edina in his 2nd career high school hockey game in a packed house. He will be fine in this one. I will give credit where credit is due. Owen is a good goalie and will keep WBL in this one as much as he can. There is only so much he can do. Hill just has to much fire power.

White Bear 3
Hill 2
OT.. maybe double

You never know what will happen at this game... the Bears need to score a couple early and play really great defense if they want a chance, they can't match Hill's depth. My prediction is that it will come down to the goalies.

They don't play double O.T. in the regular season.

Me and WBMD are taking Mariner in this one. As close as you can get to a sure thing...

WB-3
HM-2

For some reason I think this is going to be a hard fought battle, inbetween the pipes. White Bear(as said earlier) doesnt have the depth in their 3rd and 4th line defenses so I think we will see a lot more of Hoffman and Putney out there on the ice on defense. Collette looked very good vs Moundsview, He is the soul reason WB won that game. If he can play that good vs Hill Murray with some help from his defense and at LEAST 3 goals from the offense, I think WB could have a shot.

That would be "sole reason". We keep the saving of souls to the catholic schools...

It seems like neither team brought their A game last night, each winning by one goal against average teams. Hill had to take it to OT to beat Mahtomedi 3-2 while White Bear played horribly, beating Mounds View 2-1. Hopefully they were both looking ahead to this game and will bring some good energy come Tuesday. This one could be a classic, and I'll take White Bear 3-2.
