Nov. 7-8 (5)New Hampshire @ (4)Minnesota-Twin Cities

Post by Zamboni Guy »

The number 5 ranked University of New Hampshire Wildcats (4-1-2 overall, 2-0-2 Hockey East) will make their way west to face off against the number 4 ranked University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Golden Gophers (4-0-2 overall, 4-0-2 WCHA) in a pair of non-conference games at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Friday, November 7th and Saturday, November 8th.

The Wildcats are coming off of a 3 point weekend against Northeastern while the Golden Gophers are coming off of 3 point weekend of their own against Minnesota State-Mankato.

This is a big series nationally for both teams and a big weekend for the Golden Gophers will help every member of the WCHA that will be looking at the Pairwise Rankings come March. How do you think this one will turn out?

I too think UMTC and UNH will split this big series. I'll go with
New Hampshire - 3
Minnesota-Twin Cities - 2
and
New Hampshire - 1
Minnesota-Twin Cities - 4

The Golden Gophers and the Wildcats skated to a 2-2 tie at Mariucci Arena tonight.

The same two teams will match-up again Saturday night in Minneapolis.

we may be seeing Nick Larson tomorrow in action for the first time since 07 state tourney. Sounds like he has been improving and possibly is ready for the show

Is this HM Nick Larson? The one that committed, then wasn't ready or something? There are so many Nick Larson or Larsen's lately that I can't keep up.

The Golden Gophers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in this one before New Hampshire scored to bring the deficit back to one.

University of Minnesota-Twin Cities - 2
University of New Hampshire - 1

Yes, it is the Nick Larson from Hill-Murray in his first collegiate game. I do believe the other Nick Larson (from St. Thomas Academy) is still playing in the USHL.
