Televised games: who do you want to see?

Post by O-townClown »

Last year there were a lot of complaints when the Fox Sports North list came out. I'm assuming they will have games on TV again this year.

Who do you want to see?

Rules:
*Can't vote for "your team" (we understand you hope they get on TV)
*Okay to name a rivalry with both teams if you think that adds to it

I'll start. I doubt it will happen but I'd like to see Shattuck-St. Mary's. Also Hopkins assuming Boyd and Fons are there. (I haven't followed all the threads.) Plus Centennial, who won Bantams a few years back.

I agree with O-town. I'd love to see a Shattuck game if for no other reason than curiosity.

A Moorhead-Roseau game would be a blast. Moorhead has such a nice facility and it has been FSN-North friendly in the past.

I would love to see Cloquet get a game again this year.

Benilde-St. Margaret's was a nice team last year.

My top 5 teams I want to see on FSN this year:

5. Brainerd (always an interesting team, especially early in the year)
4. Moorhead (always competitve, hard working)
3. Albert Lea (need a southern team to please, they are always curious)
2. Woodbury (has been very competitve the past couple seasons)
1. Burnsville (one of the best fan sections in the state of MN)

Will burnsville win a game this year?

I'd like to see:

1. Hill Murray and White Bear whenever and wherever they play
2. Edina against anyone capable of beating them (so only about 2 games this year, maybe)

I would think the rematch of the AA title game will be a likely canidate, which would be cool as I'll be out of town and could watch it when I get back. They've done Hill v. WBL a number of times, but it could be skipped to showcase other teams. I'd like to see Blaine - Centennial again. I'd like them to air the quarterfinals of the Schwann's Cup Gold Division as they've done in the past (that often is a better tournament than the state tourney, although not last year). I like seeing as many northern teams as possible since I live in the cities and don't get a chance to see Cloquet play Duluth East in person. Should be a fun season...

How about a couple of lake teams?

Eagan vs. Jefferson?

Supposed to be couple of the top teams in the conference this year, i'd say that would be a fun game to watch later in the year.

I would love a fsn match-up of BSM and Minnetonka. They had two great games last year and I believe it would be a great match-up once again

Even though it's technically "my" school, I'll throw the Johnson/John Marshall game out there only because it's outside. We all love the outdoor hockey, right?!

Ankles Pierre, Jr. is all for Sparlimb missing Hill-Murray games, but keep the Pioneers on TV so Hill's biggest fair-weather fan (Sparlimb) still can TIVO them.

Ankles Pierre will respect the rules of this thread by saying he would like to see the following teams televised:

Saturday, Dec 6 - Edina;

Tuesday, Dec 23 - White Bear Lake;

2009 Gold Cup teams at the X;

Thursday, Jan 8 - St. Thomas Academy;

Tuesday, Jan 13 - Holy Angels;

Tuesday, Jan 20 - Benilde-St. Margaret;

Saturday, Feb 7 - St. Thomas Academy;

2009 Section 4AA final teams;

2009 AA State Tourney winners bracket!

Minnetonka was about half sophomores last year. Even if they are "average" this year they should be a real strong team next year, no?

Do Edina and Bloomington Jefferson play this year? That would be a colorful, classic matchup for FSN North to do.

Centennial at Edina on Jan 27, my guess is that these two teams are both state tourney bound and it would be a good preview of the championship :wink:

Bob, unless they could face each other in the Schwan Cup the answer is no.

How about North vs. South?

Albert Lea vs. Hibbing or Virginia
Mayo vs. Hibbing or Virginia
Mayo or Century vs. Duluth East

Some obvious ones:

Hill Murray vs. WBL
Jefferson vs. Eden Prairie
Edina vs. almost anyone
Iron Range conference game

Others with the slant towards the south:

Mayo vs. Century
Red Wing vs. Lourdes
Albert Lea vs. Lourdes
New Prague vs. Red Wing
Mankato West vs. Albert Lea

I know I broke the 'rules', but it would be nice to get a variety of competitive games....southern Minnesota teams don't have the depth, but there are plenty of great to elite players that don't get seen much.
MAYO SPARTANS!
