Ep and Section 6AA
Ep continues losing key players. They were supposed to be the favorites in section 6AA for the upcoming season but it has been brought to my attention that they have lost blake thompson (juniors) jason clark (shattuck) mitch rogge (shattuck) and now alec rush (juniors)... Who is now the new favorite in this section? Hopkins, Benilde, Minnetonka, Wayzata are teams that come to mind. This section has lost tons of talent in the last year and should be very weak. Whos taking it home?

I don't think this section will ever be "very weak"PRIVATESCHOOLS17 wrote:Ep continues losing key players. Mitch Rogge is one player that will be playing on the Eden Prairie hockey "team".
Stay Classy, Minnesota.
EP has back to back Bantam A state titles, I think that should give them some recognition for young talent?FREDFLINTSTONE wrote:
Overieskin4pres your right. EP has no young and up coming talent.
Also player Mitch Rogge is back at EP being he did not make the top Shattuck team.
Jason Clark is currently at Shattuck
Blake Thompson is playing with the Stampede and doing very well as now he is one of the top fighters in the league. He is now being recruited by the gophers

Also, Alec Rush has left to play for Tri-City Storm in Kerney, NE

I remember watching Eden Prairie on T.V. at least two times in the state tournament. I believe Erickson, who was drafted by the Wild was on one of thos teams. Don't know what happened to him after his very short stint with the Gophers.
Not sure about EP. They have the young Bantams coming in but they were successful as a "team" with a great, dedicated coach. Not so sure there was really that much individual talent. Don't get me wrong - I would prefer the strong "team" approach versus individual hockey, but when you add them to a high school team with 3 years of kids, I doubt you can get similar results. At that point you may need a little more depth in talent in the sophomore class, and I don't think you have it at EP.
I say Hopkins will be a force to deal with and EP will continue to struggle at the HS level especially with some of the player losses they've had - Thompson, Clark and others. Doubt Benilde will be too tough even with a wicked goalie and some strong talent but they could surprise us.

Agreed (except for last year). I said before that it's likely that EP could struggle with a young team. Doglover contends (as usual) that EP's success at the bantam level is due to superior coaching and that EP's sophomore class is short on talent and depth. This group won the '06 Pee Wee state title (with another coach) had at a number of players on the '07 Bantam championship before winning the '08 Bantam title.Papa Bergundy wrote:Andrew Ford?
