The Lake Superior Stars organization has added a U12 & U10 level for this years "Ice Cup" Aug. 22nd-24th. 4 games, 15 min stop time periods, no gate fees - $900. Registration info online @ www.lakesuperiorstars.com. The girls program will continue the quality experience the boys have found traveling to Duluth.
This weekend was set early in the season based on our boys weekends & yes that is why we are working hard to fill this years tourney. The girls weekend will be moved for 2009 to hopefully attract more teams.
The irony is that you lost at least a couple '96 boys teams because you moved them to earlier in the month to make room for the girls (I realize the '95s would have moved anyway.

Easton Cup is for Showacase AAA Teams...
I could be wrong but I think there are only 3 or 4 AAA U12 teams in the Twin Cities who aren't affiliated with Showcase. At the very least it shrinks the pool considerably.
