Xcel Energy Center home of Hill Murry?

Post by sliver »

Noticed that the commentators made the statement Hill had played like nine home games at Xcel this year. I thought the tournament was supposed to be neutral ice. Would like to see Hill take on Roseau on "neutral " ice up at Roseau some time.

This will be their 7th game at the X this year. 3 for the Christmas tourney and one game against St. Thomas Academy on hockey day Minnesota. Nothing to get too excited about although I imagine they'll do the same again next year. They are 5-1 so far with one unimpressive loss to Tonka.

Neutral ice? Were you at the game? If not, you would have seen 3/4 of the Xcel stand up and cheer when Roseau scored their first goal. Seemed like a "home away from home" game for Roseau...

Hill taking on Roseau anywhere in the country would equal 70% cheering for Roseau. Roseau was defending champs, has the best player in state and the undefeated ever goalie. I'd say that is a lot to have going for you going into a game...

Are you kidding me...

Outside of the one little sliver of the rink that was full of Hill fans (and maybe some people from WBL, Mahtomedi, and NSP) there was NO ONE that wanted Hill to win. I don't know if you've ever talked to too many people from the cities before, but the school isn't exactly the most liked school down here.

Maybe Hill would only win by two in Roseau.

The faster ice up north would only have served to exploit the Rams D further.

3/4th? count again 19 out of 20 at least! its like a road game for HM

even tonight, yes tonight it will be 3/4 for EDINA (I know that is hard to believe) that was the ratio I saw in the 5-3 Edina hill final in the civic Center.

agreed the media and just about everybody in the state is against Hill. The Pioneers are playing in a hostile environment. On the flip, I think 7 games on a big sheet are a slight advantage for Hill, but may be a downfall against a team like Edina where the speed and skill are deffinetely in the Hornet's corner.
