looks quite possible to be a Hill Edina final - "fans Hate Ya" final

nobody but those on the ends will even cheer.

the alltime "we hate ya final" might be coming to St. Paul

and would be a great game..and funny to see all those jeolous fans with nobody to cheer for.

Why would you bring up this possibility? I can't believe I might be pulling for BSM tomorrow....there is way too much green at the X.

And it could quite possibly be a Benilde-Roseau final.

Or worse yet, a Benilde-Hill final. Now that would suck!

hill murray will not beat roseau.. so it will either be a BSM v Roseau or an Edina v Roseau.... both of which would be great games.

I think Ness & the Rams might have something to say about the Pioneers going to the final. After 2 days of quarterfinals, in my opinion, Roseau is the best team in AA. You would have to be pretty foolish to look past them.

I agree. Roseau has been the most impressive team so far.

I agree. Roseau was incredible last night. The first period in the X is always the hardest for every team--playing under the big lights on what feels like a stage in front of thousands of people. It is hot and the air is absolutely dry. Yet, Roseau looked completely comfortable and relaxed. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

The first state tournament I attended as a kid featured Edina over Hill in a thrilling final game. It was magical. Matt Bertram was my hero!

Totally agree, there is no way Roseau loses to Hill and I don't think Edina will be beaten prior to the final game.

My favorite was watching the interviews today(was at the game and watched my tivo'd version today for interviews and such). Coming in after a 3-0 first and impressive hockey, Oliver thinks his team is skating in quicksand and wants them to get their feet moving :shock:

i know i talked to a few that were at the game and they said the rams looked really sluggish. i think its the slow ice and its not easy for the northern boys to adjust. they see it alot less than these other teams.

Hill-Edina I could handle; I don't hate Edina nearly as much as other people, going to a Cakeater school myself.

Hill-Benilde, on the other hand, would be disgusting. I might just have to go scalp my 5th-row tickets if that happens. Hopefully Roseau will prevent me from having to worry about such a thing.

True, but Karl, East folks such as us are cake-eaters. Notice the small "c" rather than big "C", as in "Cake-eater".

Edina=Cake-eater
East=cake-eater
Marshall=CAKE-EATER

Make sense? Image

OK! :D

As for tomorrow's class A championship involving the CAKE-EATERS, I'm just going to pretend it doesn't exist. Or maybe I'll strategically leave for St. Paul at the time that one starts. Out of sight, out of mind.

Really? We must not get much recognition outside the north. The east side of Duluth is significantly more affluent than the rest of the city; about 100 years ago there were more millionaires living in that area than anywhere else in the country, and there's still a fair amount of old money in the area, though not as much as there used to be. But comparted to the rest of the area, we're still the cakeaters. East's leaving the LSC probably reinforced that as they appeared to think they were "too good" for the other northern teams. We go through the majority of the traditional cakeater chants, especially against Cloquet.
