Question about TRF hockey history

Post by Roseau '71er »

I attended the games in TRF yesterday. Since it was my first visit to their new arena, I spent some time looking around before the Buffalo-Roseau game. They have several pictures on the walls and a couple piqued my curiosity. The captions below the pics contained reference to "40 & 8", and "40 & 8 Hornets". Does anyone here know what that referred to?

By the way, what a beautiful facility! Attended all three games and had a great time.

I believe what you say was a team that had been sponsored by the "Veterans of Foreign Wars" branch called the 40 & 8. They have been sponsoring numerous sports programs. Do a google search on the VFW's 40 & 8 or 40 et 8 and see what you come up with.

Thanks, that makes sense. I'll check it out.
