I think that 2 per day (as allowed, when 4 hour and 12 hour rule is obeyed) from October 1 through February 14 would not hurt. That is only a total of approximately 270 games. Still, given the amount of total games in this scenario, 15 minute periods would have to go. To maximize time and efficiency, I believe that 24 minute periods would help hone the players skills. That is only 8 one minute shifts each for a three line team and 6 shifts each for a 4 line team. It would also give coaches a little extra time to evaluate their team.
The only downside to this I suppose would be scheduling "fit" referees for each game. The extra time may take its toll on them. They wouldn't be fat for long would they
Also, missed school days might cause problems but they could make up during the summer in between games on their AAA teams. I don't know, maybe it is overkill. A 200 game schedule would work better maybe. Any thoughts?

Practice Tues, Wed Thurs. - 1 1/2 hrs - 2 hrs.
Friday off to be with friends.
One game on Saturday, maybe two on occassion.
Sunday off to be with family.
Monday off to get school work done.
Start games last week in November to end of February.
Start playoffs last week in Feb.
One tournament at home and one on the road.
That will give you 26 games before play-offs.
And a balanced life and less costs to parents.
Oh, wait, this is Minnesota and hockey is life.
Double it.
