Any tennis fans out there? Any comments on how this tournament is looking to shake out?

I have no great insight into this, but I would imagine Roger Federer will win it going away, and if you could give me notice each time Maria Sharapova plays I'd appreciate it! :D

I understand they're using some new cat gut to string the rackets this year, but this is overdoing it!

The bigger question is if there are any tennis fans.
Cut down a tree with a herring? It can't be done.

I never gave 2 craps about tennis until a Saturday when I was 14 years old.

I had a morning baseball game at East Twins, and it started pouring, so we ended up in the booth of the "shack", where a tv was on with an Ivan Lendl match at Wimbledon. Because I didn't have anything else to do until the rain let up, I sat and watched it. I was semi-interested, but I think I gained a better appreciation for the athleticism of it. Those guys really are great athletes. Up to that point, I think I had kind of lumped golf & tennis together as "sports" rather than sports... in other words, they were on tv, and people were moving around, but it's not really a sport sport. I still wonder about a "sport" where men wear capri pants, but they are athletes!

I still don't really go out of my way to watch it (unless Sharapova is playing!), but if I'm flipping past it, I'll stop to watch for a little while. It can be entertaining to watch at times... more fun to play though.

Sharapova should play somewhere between 9pm and 10pm tonight. It should be on ESPN2 otherwise it will be on ESPN360 for sure.

For some reason, I found myself watching that match and I have to say that I was very impressed with the entertainment level. It's too bad Roddick didn't win, he was serving up some pretty unreal aces.
