Can someone get an updated list as to who has commited where? It seems to have been a long time ago that an updated list has been posted. I'd like to see who's going where and what schools have done a good job of signing.

I would say the top 3 WCHA recruiting classes would be the Gophers, Ohio State, and BSU. In that order.

Sertich has indeed assembled a very nice class of recruits...but I might give an edge to the Badger class over BSU...and it really pains me to say so.

Interesting that the four recruits so far for BSU are all Minnesota HS girls. Others with four Minnesota HS players (so far) for 2008: Minnesota, Mankato, Ohio State. I don't have statistics to back this up, but it looks like an uptick in DI opportunities for the Minnesota girls. Even UMD has 2 of them!!!!!

This senior class will have more D I players than any previous class. We typically get in the low to mid 20's from any given class. I think this class will be in the 30's.

T-Bred History

Seems a bit down.; looks like around 5 per year is typical to D-1. Not sure if 12 is a large senior/post class or not for them, but you'd suspect this is a sizable class.

Are times changing for this organization? IMHO, yes. We're starting to see deeper classes of good solid HS players on many teams, so gifted players may feel less compelled to leave their HS teams for the T-Breds. I still think you will see gifted players from teams without any surrounding cast make this a viable option for development and exposure, as well as for players from western Wisconsin. Make no mistake, T-Breds are still a very formidable team and would have little trouble with most HS teams, but I think the argument can be made the gap may be closing.

Although it may be a while before we see the likes of Eden Prairie's four D1 commits again in the post-transfer era, there's a number of upcoming teams that will feature 2-3 D-1 caliber players in a given year, as we see here with Alexandria, CDH and BSM. Two or three players of this caliber and a decent supporting cast will take a HS team very far indeed.

keepitreal summed it up pretty well i think, the average number of players going d1 each year is about 5-6, with another 5-6 depending on the graduating size going d3.

I believe there are 4 players from this past season that have committed to a d1 school, 3 committed d3, and the others have not decided where they would like to committ.

Regaring keepitreal's comments on the gap slimming down between the thoroughbreds and the highschool league, yes i would agree with that, the highschool league is getting stronger every year, but at the same time i believe playing for the thoroughbreds gives players a much better chance to get noticed by college coaches around the country.
