Pretty tough to say the Gophers are going to sweep a road series with how inconsistent they have been. I think it is a safer bet to say a split. :?

I'd love to see both of these teams get things goin for good but I'd love the Dogs to sweep here. In reality...i'll say they split.
I hope the Gophers play Frazee.

I think the gophers will come back after nipping only a point from the scsu series. Gophers sweep the Bulldogs.

If Kangas plays both games, 4 points for the Gophs.
If Frazee or Solei get a start................split.

What's with the Gopher's goalie situation, anyway? You can recruit the best of the best, but when it comes to goalies, you struggle? Even Briggs was nothing special.

Both Frazee and Kangas were considered "the next coming" at the point when the Gophs committed them. Kangas had a darned good USHL career and may still be "the guy" before his college days are done. Frazee had peaked before he even went off to Ann Arbor, and has struggled since he left MN for the National program. So there is that "early committ" thing, hitting about 50%..

It's actually too bad that the NCAA doesn't put a stop to that, and not allow even verbals before the end of their junior year in high school. That's PLENTY early to decide if a player can make it, and if a kid is ready. If there was a moritorium on early commits, all the schools (and kids) would probably benefit.

Oh well... I predict a split this weekend..

I think playing Kangas on friday, and Sloei on saturday is a good strategy. I like Frazee but maybe the thought of sitting out both games against a WCHA rival will get his head back in the game, and then we'll see the real Frazee come out and play and be a very solid goaltender.

Kangas has to be the man, now. I expect him to start both nights. It will be very interesting to see if Frazee gets a start at all, in the next month. I don't think Lucia will throw Solei out there against WCHA competition, either. It's time for Kangas to saddle up for a long ride........... \:D/

If Kangas can pick up the win, I see him starting both nights. I'm going to go with a split, Goph's Friday night, Dogs Saturday night.

He just has a little trouble with everything beyond 30 feet!!! If he starts, this weekend, the Bulldogs might want to go to 5 defensmen, and just start winging shots in from about mid-ice?

Instead of dump and chase it would be dump and score. Kangas gets the start. 8)

Depends on how Kangas plays. Gophers should sweep but their goaltending has not been consistant. Tonight may be the start of a great second half stretch for them or it could be the next step towards being the bottom feeder.

Friday:
Gophs-4
Dogs-2

Saturday:
Gophs 3
Dogs 4

Bulldogs 1
Gophers 1

Final OT

A game back and forth that could have easily ended 4-1 gophers if Stalock doesn't have the game he did. Gophers outshoot the Dogs but I'd have to say the scoring chances were pretty even. Mcknight and Gordon with the goals.

Thought on tomorrow night game?

I'll take bulldogs 3-1 (EN)
