BEST GOALIES IN JR GOLD A

Post by JGACoach »

WHO SO FAR EARLY IN THIS SEASON HAS IMPRESSED YOU JGA FANS OUT THERE?

As the season progresses we can keep adding to the list and then see who is consistent and who was a flash in the pan.

WE don't know all your names so please identify the team and # the Goalie wears.

One of Jefferson's goalies. I don't recall the number. Very good. Very quick.

I'd be interested to know what year some of the better goalies are? Are most of the JGA players juniors and seniors?

Almost all, like 90%, of JGA players are Juniors and Seniors and a good portion have had JV experience.

Andover is terrible...if they have a good goalie then they must have a bunch of squirts playing defense. Their goal differential is -30 in 6 games.

Minnetonka's goalie looked great last night. And their goals against are really low for the season. I bet Burnsville outshot Tonka 35-15. The goalie won that game for Tonka. Suprised Burnsville didn't pull their goalie after the first two he let in. Can you say weak?

i gotta give it up to tonkas goalie he did win that game for them and bville didnt pull there goalie cuz thier other goalie is out with mono and the back up is from U16 and is only there incase tanner cant play, but hes not a bad goalie he just had an off night plus the first 2 goals came off a good tip and breakaway and im not 100% sure but i think they were both powerplay goals

Eden Prairie's goalie is pretty good, along with Minnetonka's goalie, and the better of Jefferson's two.

Why isn't Callahan (butchered the spelling), for Edina, playing varsity??? Didn't he play some junior leagues or midget squad or some other league down south last year or the past two years? What happened there and why isn't he playing varsity? My best guess would be that him playing wherever last year made him ineligible for high school hockey. "The best goalie money can buy!" Gave Andrew Ford, Eden Prairie Bantam A goalie, a run for that title.

Andover had 1 goalie at the begining of the year then they got another one but he quit, so Andover got another goalie who has played 7 games so far. Only really bad game he played was against Wessy's Boys.(9-0)

i think Bville's goalie that is sick right now should be the top tender if he can get healthy. two years ago he played select 16s after being cut from varsity.

the andover goalie let in two maybe three weak goals vs. wessy's boys - the rest were on the skaters not playing position and back checking - I was there and it was some of the ugliest hockey I've ever seen.

in andover's defense they have improved a lot from the start of the season

dave lamb of edina played varsity as a sophmore, let his focus wander so his skill is leaps and bounds above all junior gold goalies

Pollard from Rapids is very competitive when he's on his game, which he almost always is

Lamb from edina, edina beat eagan 5-0 and without him it could have been a 5-4 game. when hes on, no one is scoring

I don't play JGA, but I watched the 1st period of a Wessy's boys and a Centennial game, and to answer NEMN's question I would say Centennials goalie was good. He shut down a number of good scoring chances.
