Who will be the last unbeaten, untied team this year?

Post by hockeydad »

This topic brought some interesting discussion last year, so I thought I'd give it new life....

Who will be the last unbeaten, untied team in the state.

As of Sunday, Dec. 16, there were 10 unbeaten, untied teams.

At least one will go by the wayside Tuesday, as Owatonna plays Mankato West.

Here are the candidates, their sections, and their next games.

Owatonna (1AA)
(Tuesday vs. Mkto West)
Edina (2AA)
(Wed vs. Grand Rapids)
Centennial (5AA)
(Tuesday vs. Maple Grove)
Hopkins (7AA)
(Thursday vs. Mound)
Minnetonka (7AA)
(Thursday vs. Eastview)
Roseau (8AA)
(Friday vs. Grand Forks Central)

Mankato West (1A)
(Tuesday vs. Owatonna)
Minnehaha Academy (4A)
(Tuesday vs. Mahtomedi)
International Falls (7A)
(Tuesday vs.Bemidji)
Park Rapids (8A)
(Tuesday vs Wadena)

Looking at your list, I would have to say Edina and Roseau have the best chance to go unbeaten. However, I don't think there will be a team that will go unbeaten this year.

I think only Roseau has a chance, Edina is good but they play a lot of good teams

At least until Sections....Because of their schedule Park Rapids has a great chance of going undefeated in the regular season....their last big obstacle is TRF but they have them in PR this year.

Centennial has a shot. The main obstacle will be the Schwann cup. They are DOMINATING thier conference this year. Roseau also has a shot since they are not playing in the Schwann cup. I would LOVE to see Mankato run it. That is a deserving town that is overdue for some puck luck.

By the looks of their schedule I would say Roseau, but I guess you can never tell what will happen.

Park Rapids because of their schedule or Roseau because they're so good.

Regular PR because of the creampuff schedule Sections won't make it past the semis...I'm thinking the Rams are primed for a fall once it happens then watch out they'll refocus and be REALLY tough.

Gotta go with Roseau due to their schedule. Weak schedule but a very good hockey team.

I am gonna go with a shocker. I think Centennial could be the last team at undefeated after the tourneys... Hopefully they continue to play good hockey!

2 of the 6 AA teams lose tonight with Owatonna and Centennial going down in flames.

I don't know who is in the Fergus Falls tournament but Mankato West has a very easy schedule with maybe 5 tough games left; Albert Lea (2), Mayo, Lourdes, and Minnehaha Academy. West may score 200 goals this season, they've already tallied 59 goals in 6 games.
