Elite girls AAA programs
does anyone have a recomendation(s) as to which program the top girls play in the spring and fall...I have a 99 born daughter that is the top ranked girl and her HEP scores are fifth among the last year mite boys...not trying to brag but rather explain the situation and see if someone can point me in the right direction...thanks in advance.
your kidding right, I have been involved in girls hockey for 14 years and never would consider a boy or girl elite at the mite level. HEP scores mean nothing, lets wait til puberty until we define elite. My daughter with 2 NCAA championship rings did't even play at that age. Oh and by the way I do coach a AAA team and promote it 100%.
Just
Gilmour..I think he's just eluding the fact that you came accross as kind of an arrogant prick in your original post...with the terms elite and AAA and all of that...rather than just saying "can anyone recommend a good offseason program for my 8 year old daughter who loves hockey".
Minnesota Made is heading up a 99 birth year girls team this spring, it's advertised in LPH. I'd recommend it because it seems that they can build skaters out of that place...and no I don't have a player there, but rather have seen several kids this early season that all have a single tie when you say "wow, that kid is a nice skater..."
Good luck with your daughter, my mite daughter just started up this year and is a breath of fresh air to watch with the smile on her face, now if she could just learn to stop this year....

Thank you JANCZE5 for taking control of this post. I didn’t not mean to insult Gilmour. I just want Gilmour and anyone else not fall in that trap of labeling players and expecting more from them then they are capable of doing at this age. We want to develop hockey players for life. I remember back in the 90s an Edina peewee girl (relative of one of my players)came down to Rochester to skate with my 1st year girls team. They players were so impressed and awed by the skating, shooting and speed this player performed at. Fast forward 5 years later and there they are in a tournament, my daughter, wins the draw against this same girl and scores the winning goal. My point is they all will develop with ice time and coaching but most of all they have to enjoy the hard work. If we put in as much effort in working together as we do complaining about Minnesota Made and other AAA efforts think where we might be.
Ok - let me rephrase my post in "minnesotan" politically correct terms so that I do not offend anyone...new post reads:
"my daughter asked if she could play on a AAA hockey team like her brother - does anyone know of a program that runs in the offseason for girls that may be looking to be challenged beyond their current winter association?"
If there aren't any, that is fine - but spare me the life lessons about which words I should or should not use to describe my questions or statements. Last time I checked this site isn't titled the Politically Correct Society for Hockey Parents Who Want To Talk In Generic and Broad Terms.
and yes, I have lived in Minnesota my whole life.

WOW! I guess not everyone is as eloquent as Coachk, jancze5 and Bensonmum.
I read his post and missed the part where he said that he had an "elite" girl player. He stated that she was the top ranked girl and 5th based upon HEP scores. We all know that HEP scores are not for ranking, but they actually do in some magical way get sorted out based upon scores whether it's to make even teams or because somebody wants to know.
If he wouldn't have given some indication of her ability, the next question he would have been asked is "is she any good"?
I love how everyone else is so perfect.
Get off his ***!
