Gore? Nobel??

Post by tomASS »

Please say it is not so!

It is like encouraging the poster we don't want to encourage or talk about.

Gee I would have thought he would have won this a lot earlier for inventing the "interweb"

this just makes a mockery of the Nobel prize.

Does increase of headsize lead to a larger carbon footprint???

Gore is the ultimate hypocrite! The Nobel Peace Prize is selected by a bunch of politically driven wingnuts in Norway. Arafat received the award, so I guess Gore fits right in with that crowd.

The Story of Two Houses

LOOK OVER THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE FOLLOWING TWO HOUSES AND SEE IF YOU CAN TELL WHICH BELONGS TO AN ENVIRONMENTALIST.

HOUSE # 1:

A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas.
Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern "snow belt," either. It's in the South.

HOUSE # 2:

Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, This house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the area blend the property into the surrounding rural landscape.

So the answer is:

HOUSE # 1 (20 room energy guzzling mansion) is outside of Nashville, Tennessee. It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist and filmmaker) Al Gore.

HOUSE # 2 (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas. Also known as "the Texas White House," it is the private residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush. So whose house is gentler on the environment? Yet another story you WON'T hear on CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC or read about in the New York Times or the Washington Post. Indeed, for Mr. Gore, it's truly "an inconvenient truth."

I would have to agree that Bush is very enviroment friendly, just look at how is trying to control over population by sending people to die in a country we have no business being in. Good job Mr. Bush.

To Be A Democrat You Have To Believe That...

Virtually anyone can be a Democrat. Just simply quit thinking and vote that way. But if you want to be a GOOD Democrat, there are some prerequisites you must have first. Compare the below and see how you rate.

1. You have to believe the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

2. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

3. You have to believe that guns, in the hands of law-abiding Americans, are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology, in the hands of Chinese communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and more affected by yuppies driving SUVs.

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.

7. You have to be against capital punishment but support abortion on demand.

8. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists from Seattle do.

10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.

11. You have to believe the military, not corrupt politicians, start wars.

12. You have to believe the NRA is bad, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinmen are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, General Robert E. Lee or Thomas Edison.

15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides aren't.

16. You have to believe Hillary Clinton is really a lady.

17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried, is because the right people haven't been in charge.

18. You have to believe Republicans telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and sex offender belongs in the White House.

19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites and bestiality should be constitutionally protected and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

20. You have to believe that illegal Democratic party funding by the Chinese is somehow in the best interest of the United States.

Ya know what, nevermind man. It's obvious that you and I are on different wave lenghts here. My original comment was a joke about Bush being enviormentally friendly as pointed out in the example of the two houses. It then turned into a Bush hating speech when the LAG (lack of intelligence group) dedided that I was off topic. Or as BIAFP puts it, I need to stay in school, which is just a add on to the whining he did the last time I disagreed with him. Hopefully the wife puts some insecticide on the strap-on to get the bug that's up his butt. Don't worry, I'm done now since I'm apparently not in your league as far as smarts go, ya know, since you were the one that couldn't pick up on the relationship between my comment and the houses. :?

Is anybody else catching on to the fact that all of the right wingers on this board just love to hear themselves talk? Its starting to get kind of amusing. Even though a bunch of us who lean to the left have just kind of backed off, they keep going, and going, and going...

It's almost as if they're trying to sell us on something. It's like that pimple faced dork at Circuit City who tries pitching you the virtues of the 5 year extended warranty for the $20 cellphone charger you just bought!

Thanks for the info on BIAFP. I understand now what the deal is. You either agree with him, or your wrong. Sorry for stealing the microphone away from you for a second BIAFP. You can have it back now and please feel free to continue with your ranting and raving about how we are all sheep if we are not Republican.
