If the guy really did all the things that are talked about I hope he is locked up for the MAX. However, I talked to someone who knows of the situation and he told me their is no way Vick gets a day in jail, which is sad, and said he has way to much money and the lawyers will get him off clean. We'll see.

They should strap a couple of t-bones to him and lock him in a kennel with about 4 pit bulls.
We could find out if he is a worthy fighter or not.

If OJ can kill someone and get away scotch free, I'm sure he can get away with this.

He went to Virgina Tech and there is no way that you can place blame on the University for his actions. Va Tech is a very fine academic institution.

Some details of the indictments are coming out, sounds like it just isn't a dog fighting thing, there was a lot of abuse and cruelty to the dogs that went beyond the fighting aspect. Dogs were being electricuted and fed gun powder in addition to other acts, it's obvious someone took some real enjoyment in abusing the animals.

Falcons owner, Arthur Blank is a known dog lover.

Hey Michael, the Feds might be the least of your problems.

He will lose the trial(tough to beat the government) but get off with probation because he is not a repeat offender, has lots of $$ and is a big name which I think is sad because if any of use did what he is accused of doing we would see jail time I bet.

I have a very important question...

Every year I wear my Ron Mexico jersey to our fantasy football draft. In light of these new allegations against Vick, would that be considered tacky? :D

Corn rolls? What are those? Some sort of vegetable?

Yes, if any of us did what he did we would go to jail, but OJ didn't see the inside of a jail for killing a woman. Also, we live in a society that doesn't value the lives, as inhumane as it may be, of animals as much as those of humans.

HS, just thought I'd fill you in. Corn rolls are a type of hairstyle worn mainly by the african american culuture. Look for a picture of Michael Vick or Randy Moss (sans Afro) to see what then look like.

You know, with all that money, you'd think these guys would be able to hire a guy that keeps them from doing dumb stuff like this. Hey Mike, if you really want to throw your money away to the courts and lawyers, then send some my way. I need a new boat and some golf clubs!

A little late in replying, thanks Can't Never Tried. If you're going to make fun of me, that's cool theref, at least know what you're talking about. Corn rolls are a food, cornrows are a hair style.

I just think it's odd how no one has mentioned how recently (relatively speaking) another football player killed his wife and got off with no jail time. He lost in civil court, but I'm sure Vick could care less if that happened to him. I think it's terrible and I know if any non-athlete did what he did they'd get punished, but he makes more than the other guy did and he didn't kill any people. I'm not saying this is what should happen, personally I think he, Bonds, and all people who break the law and rules of their sport should be fired indefinitely. People can say that we'd lose a lot of athletes, fine with me, then they can get a real job like us and we are shown athletes aren't above the law.

But remember, he's innocent until proven guilty. We only know what the media tells us and they like to make most things seem worse than they are.

Quoting Roger Goodell from Yahoo sports...
"While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct, even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies, including the personal conduct policy," Goodell said.

Maybe it was roid rage that made him do it???
At least this guy is drawing a line on the acceptance of less then reputable behavior....about time huh!!!

I heard rumor alledgedly from Tim Donaghy the odds are 5:1 Vick walks Image

Actually HSHockeywatcher, I was just trying to be infromative and make a joke about Randy Moss's hair in the same line, but if you took it as making fun of you, well that's all your perception I guess.

Don't make something out of nothing.

So if the Falcons release him....and the talk is sounding as if they might be tossing that idea around.

Would he be picked up right away by another NFL team?

My guess is yes, which would confirm what I and some others are saying that it's only the $$$$ that matters...same goes for if Atlanta keeps him.... it's a no win deal for Atlanta....keep him you look weak.... release him and someone else takes him....This guys to big a football talent for the league to let go.

I bet my golden retriever that he's playing somewhere this year!

Or will they do the right thing? and ban him from the league permanently.

Of course this is all based on if he's guilty of the charges

NFL League should suspend him with no pay till he clears all charges. This is not a small time DWI/Loveboat  thing? Then let Atlanta add a player till he is cleared or convicted... ok, maybe!
Won't do as much time as Parris.

Wait here fellas. One big thing that the people of our country take pride in is the fact that we are "innocent until proven guilty." So we need to give him that privilege too. It sounds like he's guilty, but it hasn't been proven yet. And until it has, he's innocent.

If he is guilty, yes, he should be made an example of and be banned from the NFL to make an example for ALL sports out there that you aren't invincible. I just keep going back to one thing though. There was a football player who killed a person and got away scotch free. Knowing that, I'd say his odds are pretty good.

But hey, if he goes to jail, at least he'll have corn rolls to share with the other inmates 8)

This is the exact opposite of what you just said in your last post of the Bonds thread :?
HShockeywatcher wrote:Just because it can't be proven that he's guilty doesn't mean he's innocent. This is an example of where being innocent until proven guilty sucks. We know he's guilty, we just can't prove it. If he's so innocent like you say gopher, why doesn't he prove it?
