How high will they climb?
The Twins are notorious for the 2nd half finishes being 4 for 4 at the moment. Last year they finished 3rd in the MLB and were 1 game out of being tied for 1st. At the moment they are in 11th overall, but are on a roll. How high will they climb by the end of the season?
Twins
Overall I beleive the twins will clinch the wild card spot passing Cleveland. Boston, Detroit, and Seattle will take the division titles. All four teams will be the top in the MLB at the end of the year since the N.L. blows. So that leaves the Twins at fourth.
Morneau will also pass A-Rod for homers, and we can all pray Torri Hunter gets traded away for a solid DH.

A little fyi for ya, you can be the wild card and be the 2nd best team in the game. You could even be the 3rd best and and make the post season.
I don't support trading Torii one bit. But I also don't know what the talk is about keeping him, and if they're not going to we could probably get a better DH, better 3rd baseman and maybe even another center fielder for him. I hope that doesn't happen, but if we're not going to keep him, we should get the best we can.

I am well aware the Wild Card could still be the second best team in the MLB. I personally believe Seattle and Boston are both going to finish the season with better records than the Twins.
Torii says he wants to stay in Minnesota. The fans want him to stay in Minnesota. The problem is the Twins owner, being one of the wealthiest owners in the league, is still a cheap ass. That is my only reason for trading him away, because I see it as being better for the twins in the long run.

Yes, and it's also possible the 3rd best team doesn't make the playoffs. Could easily happen this year. Anyone know if that's ever happened?
Okay, I may not be a millionaire, but how big is the difference between a couple million? If it was between going away for 14 or 16, sure take 16, but if it's between staying where you want to be, where your fans want you, and the only place you've been, why even consider leaving when you're doing just fine where you're at?
Personally, I don't like the whole "owner's are cheap asses" point of view. Yes, they all have lots of money. Yes, they all (most) could afford $300+ million salaries a year. But just think what would happen if more teams started acting like the Yanks; all players would make more, all ticket prices would go up, etc, etc, etc.
Twins are in 12th right now. A win AND a miracle tomorrow puts them in 11th. The next month will be crucial.

17th at the moment isn't so good. But with a sweep we could potentially go as high as 12th. With Detroit and Cleveland falling from 2nd and 3rd to 7th and 8th, we can really gain some much needed ground over the next 5 days.
Then after Seattle we have 4 games against the Orioles, the team we opened the year with a sweep against. We need as many of those as we can get as the rest of the calendar is mostly tough ones.
