I would think the Sioux fans are pretty happy about that. He is an exciting player to watch.

Good choice on Oshie's part. He is a great college hockey play but I don't think he is NHL ready. I give him one more year to develope and then hes gone.

He should'a left. Really hope for his sake he doesn't get hurt. You can always go back and finish college, but you can only make that money for a little while...Besides that, with the state of the Blues, he probably could've spent a lot of time with them next year. What does he have left to prove in college?

I'm sure he'll make quite enough money when his time comes, let him enjoy the college lifestyle for another year while he's still young enough to.

Well....Drafted players that stay in school usually have policies from Lloyd's of London taken out for an amount close to what their earning potential is. I'm guessing Big Osh got plenty of advice from Henry and Mike Antonivich as to what kind of coverage TJ should have. So I believe that the Oshie's are well covered in case of an injury.

T.J. Oshie is one of the most exciting players to watch in college hockey. He's should be a quality pro player.

The Sioux are similar to the Gophers in that they recruit many of these blue chip players who only last a year or two in college. Oshie is an amazing talent--he and Okposo are my favorite players to watch.

Those two are fun to watch. Either can make the highlight reel any night they play.

He'll make a solid pro player. I think he is ready to play in the NHL but if he wants to stay a UND for another year and try for that National Championship more power to him.

I saw T.J. the other day. He looks to be in the best physical shape of his life. He wants to win a national championship. I expect the UND squad to be very good.

I dont think college athletes should ever leave early. Leaving their team early, education early, and you dont know what's going to happen... If oshie keeps it up and keeps working hard, he'll be a good player in the nhl.

It will be interesting to see if Oshie and Duncun can put up the same numbers with Toews gone. Toews was a great playmaker and very good on faceoffs.

I can't say that I agree. If a player believes that he can make an impact, why not get started on that contract a little earlier. These guys don't have into their 50's to make money for retirement, so if they can get in and have a decent season, their value goes up along with their experience and thus, their contracts go up. Yes, staying in college does give you something to fall back on, but if a player has a good first year, but get's hurt, he can use that money to go back to school if needed. Granted he wouldn't be able to play because he's now played professionaly, but if he's in that situation, he's probably never playing hockey again anyway. However, you only get one first season in the NHL and being there at the age of 20 vs. the age of 23 or 24 could make a big difference down the road.

Just my two cents. I like when players stay, but I can see why they leave as young as they do.

Anyway, about Oshie. Hope he has a good season. I though he had a little bit of the sophmore slump, but maybe that's because expectations were so high after a very good rookie campaign.
