interesting developments on the transfer issue....what are everyone's thoughts? I find it somewhat amusing that some in the legislator think that the new tranfer rules will somehow cause more teen pregnancies....

It's just a couple of Dumbocrats that think they are alive to protect us, and that we are too stupid to live our own lives...

I sure hope the Legislature does not stick its nose in the MSHSL.

That would be boneheaded (come to think of it, they probably will).

Transfer Rules

I think we are just seeing the beginning of what is set to be a long battle. If this legislation doesn't pass, I imagine that there are several groups lined up to file a law suit. I don't think we have seen the end of this, and it's not a slam dunk to be put in place for next year like many thought. That's just my opinion.

I'm sure once the MSHSL sits down and explains the community sports concept the Legislature will see the merits in the new rule. Of course they may ask about the recent championship between the communities of Stillwater area (13 cities and 5 townships) vs North metro (5 high schools) and wonder what a community might be.

That would be a school district xk1. Stillwater is one school distict not 5 combined school districts. Stillwater is no different than most districts. Not sure how you can compare them to North Metro.

Didn't say they were different school districts, the are a co-op of communities just like Roseville area and yes it is common. It all depends on your definition of community. The Novas are from an even larger area, Mpls is one ISD but much bigger than North Metro.
My point is there is no consistency, how can combining all these schools and communities be OK but transferring a couple of students be bad? By the way, I'm not trying to belittle Stillwater here, they just serve as an example, there are many others.
