I think Sartell will win it because they are so consistant. I have not seen them have a truly "off" game. Buffalo is deeper but rarely puts 3 good periods together. Whoever (D4 & D5) shows up for 3 games is going to win this thing.

BTW...Sartell only plays 2 lines.

See you in Litchfield and good luck to all!

Does anyone know naything more about Sartell? I do not know who they've played htis year, so that would be helpful as well. Leaving for Litchfield in aprox. 2 and 1/2 hours!!!

BTW, any teams have to dress up for this thing?

Most of Sartell's scoring will come from two huge defensmen....Guttenberg & ?.

Buffalo is NOT dressing up.

So I take it that Sartell doesn't have as much depth as a few of the other teams?

No...they are solid...just two lines though....but Guttenberg to Sartell is like Marshall to Mahtomedi.

If they call the game close....Sartell will be in the box alot and that will work to their disadvantage.

I'm sure, as Marshall is pretty much a stud.

Just like that Matt Campbell kid.

I only saw Marshall play one game...looked good but not dominant like Guttenberger (sp?)....at least against mediocre teams. Guttenberger has to be their leading scorer...pretty effective at going coast to coast and he's a huge kid who doesn't get knocked off the puck very easily.

Bantam A - Silver Region

Post by dasherdude »

I'm going out on a limb and say ALL D4 teams will advance.

I'm the dreamer?

Post by dasherdude »

Maybe so D5Dreamer...
Of all D4 teams, Albert Lea will have the toughest game, but I still think AL wins. That's a different AL team than the one that imploded against Buffalo 2 years ago in PW.

If one district sweeps the floor, it wil definatly be D4. I do not think D5 is as strong as D4, when it comes to the four teams.

See all in Litchfield!

Buffalo PW's are inconsistant....we'll see what happens to them...but Buffalo's Bantams are a "good anywhere" team. They tied Jefferson & Eden Prairie and clobbered Wayzata.....several of those games were with key players injured. They're healthy....they'll will not lose.

Interesting....we think we're one of the weaker districts but we always felt D4 was the weakest (other than TC).....just opinion.

When did Orono get moved? Wasn't Mound/West Tonka also in D5 not too long ago?

Orono left this year (they played D5 last year). Mound/W is still part of D5...their PWA team miraculously made it to regions.

So, D5 Dreamer. Who are your two winners of the tourneys? PWA and Bantam A.

D5Dreamer

Silver Regioal

Post by D5Dreamer »

I'm not that good.....however, it will be a huge upset if Buffalo doesn't win the Bantam tournament.

I don't think there are any clear favorites in PW's. Buffalo and Sartell are much better than Crow River & Mound. However it seems like on a given day, Mankato, Faribault & NP can play with each other. I'll go out on a limb and say one of those five will move on! Gutsy!

I was thinking the same thing about you. I'm not even sure Buffalo will win tonight. But if they do they'll be facing nothing but D4 teams the rest of the weekend.
