"Why compare to Edina? Edina has 200+ kids tryout and their best player open enrolled at the squirt level. Edina's coach shortened his bench multiple times last year at the squirt level. Really!!!! With that many kids you should win with everyone on your bench. Rosemount had under 80 kids tryout, Rosemount is all home grown talent!!! Rosemount skated 3 lines straight through all season no matter what the score was...
I think this is great for all of MN hockey if a town like Rosemount can accomplish this feat... That should give more communities hope of having great season's and not think it's going to be Edina, EP, Wayzata every year...
Rosemount's official season ended in Fargo since they opted out of their district tournament. Congrats to them for being undefeated this season and beating every top team in the state....
Mn Hockey needs to embrace this YHH squirt tournament and waive the games, What could it really hurt? teams will play anyway...

OBOY....
"Why compare to Edina?".....funny coming from a guy that started a post specifically comparing Rosemount to Edina!
Rosemount had a great year.....best squirt team of the year......winner of the biggest squirt tournament in the country......winner of four great hockey tournaments this season....undefeated......Any more accolades I missed so you don't feel under appreciated?
You honestly don't need to skew the squirt numbers (Rosemount, 7 teams, 92 players/7goalies....Edina, 11 teams, 163 players/22goalies) to make your point that Rosemount has done a great job with their program. Because Rosemount HAS done a great job with their program!!
Again Rosemount is the king of all squirt teams and nobody disputes that....hope that makes you sleep better tonight!

It will help me sleep thanks..... I'm from Rosemount but have no kid on the team, I'm proud of their accomplishment as it has created a fun buzz for Rosemount hockey. I did compare COMPLETED seasons with Edina and not future seasons.
The 92 kids you reference, 10 of them were 3rd grade move ups to fill out C teams. So that would leave 82 kids, I'm sorry I was off by two... I believe coming into this year they only had 3 full-time goalies at the squirt level and 4 kids made this their first year as a goalie.
Congrats to the Irish players, coaches and parents!!! You guys made all of Rosemount proud..
