With tongue-in-cheek it is referred to as the JV Tournament
Why would they rename it the JV tourney up north? How many AA teams are past Elk river to the north, like 5? And oh by the way, Hermantown throttled Rapids and could beat most AA teams up north on any given day. Not to mention what Warroad has done to those AA teams in the past.
But Grand Rapids and Moorhead are really good at getting 2nd at state...

Up North it has been renamed.

With tongue-in-cheek it is referred to as the JV Tournament
The northern part of the state is the only area where class A is respected. Up north to you is probably Forest Lake

We all know, private schools should all go AA, Warroad should go AA, Monticello doesn't belong in AA, St. Thomas Academy does... Everyone has heard the so called "problems" with class A. What I want to hear is an honest reason that people get mad at the way it is set up. Usually it is one of the following:
-Your class A team always gets beaten by a private school or Waroad come tournement time.
-Your class AA team beat all of the private class A teams that they played but will not get through it's section.
Personally I believe the team I follow should play AA. Not because they have done so great at class A. Not because I have "little man" syndrome and think the class A tournement is the "JV" tourney. I believe the team I follow was plenty established enough to compete in the AA section in this area. I am not complaining that Totino-Grace, Benilde when they played A, Breck, Warroad, or Lourdes beat the team I follow soundly at the tournement. I just believe they are a bigger school in the area.
So what is it??? Honestly?
