I hope WBL wins, so they get their asses kicked by Edina, and have to go play whoever in the 3rd place backdoor game, which from previous knowledge, having played in that game twice myself, is nearly impossible to win once you've lost the championship game.
-TWM22

Meh, no excuses really. Dominated for the first 2 periods then just stopped playing. Don't really know what was going through the players minds.

We did get robbed twice in the overtime though, with one pipe shot and one other really close one. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/grin.gif ALT=" >D">
<img src="http://www.wblhockey.com/images/toc/toc ...

It just shows that this region is WAYYYYY to stacked having only 4 teams total from the whole region.

I would have to disagree a bit with "AJ". WBL did not dominate the first two periods. In fact, they were out shot. They happened to get a couple, and Collette came up big on a breakaway and a few two on ones.

WBL did stop playing in the third and never adjusted to the floating wing. I don't know if they were gassed, but they seemed to just slap the puck around.

The Centennial goalie had a big save in the OT and WBL clanked one off the post. If Centennial stays strong up front, they will be tough to beat the next couple of years as their first year goalie will be around for two more years.

My prediction is a Centennial/Edina state tourney final, which may go OT again. This one is too close to call in my book.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... nhs>gc1 at: 3/5/06 9:02 pm

I agree, i think there is a possibility that Centennial could upset Edina this year but it'll be close.

Overall, i think the state tourney got rigged big time this year. Owatanna? I can name 10 or 15 teams that are way better than them. But hey, life's a bitch sometimes. But congrats to Owatanna for comin out of there region.

Congratulations to all of the good teams that did not make it to state! We all know there are a lot!

Yeah jeez, the Maroon region was like a mini state tournament. Edina #1 WBL-done (2) Centennial #3 and Jefferson-done (4) all playing in the semis, and two had to go. Other great teams like Hopkins, Osseo, Orono, and Forest Lake all had their season end.

To answer hockeydotcom, what was going through my mind was just hoping our players could pull something together, seeing as I am Collette's goalie partner, and was not playing.
<img src="http://www.wblhockey.com/images/toc/toc ...

You can go watch them play edina at New Hope. That is if you live in the cities. I know i will be there. I would love to see a Centennial Edina rematch from last year, and have the game go the other way this time. I think Centennial has it in them after watching them stay strong and even outplaying Edina in the region championship. Should be a fun bunch of games to watch.
