I heard Centennial was up big with about 5 minutes left... Eagan kept it close for a while.

When I left Centennial was up 6-1 with 6 and half minutes left.

The Orono/Jefferson game was a good one. Jefferson dominated the majority of the first and second periods and had 4 or 5 powerplays to Orono's 1. Jefferson did a really good job of keep Orono's scorers under control and not letting them have any open shots. Jefferson's goaltender also made some very key saves, one including a breakaway with about 10 seconds left in the 2nd that would have tied it at 1-1. But, Jefferson had a 1-0 leading going into the 3rd. Jefferson was able to capitalize quickly in the 3rd going up 2-0 right away. Orono then picked it up and started to play. Orono's got on the board quickly after Jefferson going up 2-0 to narrow the lead to 2-1. Orono then capitalized again a minute or so later to tie the game at 2. Jefferson answered back about 2 minutes later(about 10 or so minutes left in the game) with a slapshot from the top of the circle that ended up being the game winner. Jefferson outshot Orono 34-24. Great game Jefferson, you guy's deserved it.
Give Centennial all you got!
Hope to see again later on in the tourney and best of luck.

--When the going gets tough, the tough get going--
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... mnlight,
I think your summary was very right. It was a really great hockey game. Keep your head up. You guys have a very good shot at going through the back door. I'd love to see you guys go all the way through. You made some really great saves tonight. It shows real character not making up excuses after a loss like 90% of the kids on here would've done. I have a lot of respect for you and your team. Best of luck.

Thanks. No excuses to be made. You guy's plan and simple out played us. It was that easy. That #11, Gallus, on your team is a great player. He had a great game. He got me on that 2nd goal, that was a great shot and same with the 1st. Whoever that was on your team who batted that puck out of the air, wow, that was such a nice play.

Again, best of luck!

--When the going gets tough, the tough get going--

1st goal

Post by Daddypants66 »

I was at the game and i thought the first goal was for sure a high stick, any thoughts on that......do you think it could have changed the outcome of the game?

I honestly could not tell. I just remember making the save the puck popping up and a heard the kid hit it but, I didn't see if it was a high stick or not. Sure it would have changed the outcome of the game because it would have been 0-0 after two instead of 1-0. But, nothing you can do about it now. It's over.

--When the going gets tough, the tough get going--

It definently woulda changed some but we were getting to many powerplays and would have scored soon enough. I shot the puck and yes a kid did swing at it but he missed the puck. If he woulda hit the puck it shouldn't have counted.
