You must be the only person that is surprised Drazen has moved on. Didn't really fit in. Yep, great player though. Plays with a BIG chip on her shoulder.

Any inside information.

I've heard / read lots of complaints directed towards the coaching staff. Some of those complaints originated with a couple of the players. In another forum Sioux fans are blaming the poor / inept coaching (in their view) for the player exodus. I also read another top UND player (Dianoski from the NAHA) was having eligibility problems due to academics. Can't say if that's true, just what I heard. Also heard she won't be returning. I have no idea how the coach stacks up but, for UND fans to expect the Sioux to compete with and move up to the top teams in the WCHA in just their 2nd season in the conference is not terribly realistic in my opinion...and a bit much to expect. I'm pretty sure they are not on a level playing field as per available scholarships yet...that's a pretty big factor in becoming competitive.

Congrats to all 3. I've worked with Johnson & Horton before - great players & great people. Every time I saw Johnson play she impressed me more and more. Horton is a strong player that can play physical hockey too... I've also heard wonderful things about Krause...

Holy smokes!! I'd heard of the Horton commitment awhile back...but this makes 7 for the current class. Big class. Lost five to graduation...

...and I've heard rumors of a 2005-06 freshman will not be returning to the team. Something a little unfortunate IMO.

Edit: Let me 2nd those congratulations!!

Drazan is going to the U now too I hear, but will sit the 1 year WCHA transfer requirement?

Old news to many, but I don't know if it was posted on here anywhere...

Yes she did. Tiff was a very hard worker. Lee is a great player and someone had to get her the puck at center ice. Tiff was the leading scoring for the first part of the year, was all tournament team, and she scored all three goals against Benilde to go to the section finals. 2 very good players. Good luck to both in their college careers.

Congrats to Windmeier. Great player & person. Excellent choice by Wisconsin. I expect she'll be a Ms. Hockey finalist.

I also assume top Ms. Goalie candidate Nixon is still committed to SCSU.

Great to hear. I've had a few kids in the last couple years decide that they want to play D2 or higher Soccer/Fastpitch instead of hockey. It's great to still have some multi-sport athletes in hockey. I think they're becoming more rare however as the sport becomes more expensive/elitist (and specialization is happening more & more in all sports due to year-round schedules).

I believe that IF has sent at least one gal on to play D1 hockey at one point. Or so I heard.

Yes. This has been confirmed.

Congrats to Amy & MSU!!! This is a great player & person, and sounds to be the all around best fit after many opportunities were considered. Amy ends up playing for one of my favorite college coaches and this is win-win for everyone!
