What's the buzz out there after the girls have completed tryouts? I know one team that's generating a lot of chatter is Eden Prairie. We all know Eden Prairie is in a downward spiral due to various reasons on both the girls and boys side but what has transpired this year is let's just say shocking. With a class of close to 10 seniors (after this group went to State as 15s) a large chunk of them got cut and instead Breakaway loaded up a bus full of 8th graders, dropped them off in front of the Community Center and all made the team. Close to 10 of them.
Not a single one of these 8th graders will play at Eden Prairie beyond this season and yet the coaching staff decided to cut girls who have been in the programs since Lean to Skate for a one year loan of clout chasing grifters. Some will argue "you have to win a spot" but this Eden Prairie team was going nowhere and you just gutted the team for maybe 1 more win on the books.
