Strib ruins sports hubs

Post by Sparlimb »

Anyone looked at the ugly change they made to the hubs? No reading articles without a subscription. No looking at previous years. No looking at a team schedule (that I can find). It looks like crap.

I saw on Twitter they will have the archive stats available again soon. I think it looks pretty sharp and if it means more articles and wider coverage of sports, I'm all for it.

As for subscription, it's a business, they need income to provide content. (Or you find a way around it to read the articles.)

I gave up on the Star Tribune a long time ago. They stopped reporting the news and started to try to get us to think like their faithful leader(s)

Plus everyone knows hockey is their 8th or 9th favorite sport to cover

I get why they need to charge a fee now that their paper no longer gets tossed onto our driveways... But that's not why I won't pay for it

Yeah, you can tell when a former Republican politician is the publisher of a paper.

Just because the publisher is a Republican doesn't mean the paper drastically prints and leans the other way. It's all about the $$$$.

Corn...I think East Side was being funny

Pretty sure he knows the top guy at the strip worked for Walz for years

I voted left far more times than I voted right and even I can't read that paper anymore

Aside from their political stance, the Trib has a long history of ignoring hockey. Or at best, providing minimal coverage. And don't get me started about their "all metro" all star teams/coverage (often ignoring the rest of the state)

KFAN is no better.. Nothing worse than listening to Barreiro ask Lou basic hockey questions like "Does the Wild need to improve their power play to be more successful? Yet Barreiro can spend 30 minutes breaking down the shooting style of the visiting teams back up point guard playing against the Timberwolves that night

Bottom line...Even in the state of hockey, as sad as it is, hockey always will be the 4th most sport talked about in any of the major media outlets

Never liked the Star Tribune or much of anything on that side of the river.
Pioneer Press was decent 30 years ago the paper hit your front step or paper box by 6:00, not throw out the window in the general direction of your driveway.
