Sister Act
Over the Holiday tournaments I noticed a few younger players that either have a older sister playing D1 or will be playing D1 next year, here is a list that I know of. Please add to it.

Brooky,
I'm a little disappointed that you of all fans did not bring up the sister act that is in your own back yard.

Erin Keys-CDH, class of 04 Ohio
Kaylee Keys-CDH, class of 09

Anna McDonald-TG, class of 06 Boston College
Gina McDonald-Irondale, class of 10

Anya Miller-ER, class of 04 University of Mn.
Laurel Miller-ER, class of 10

Sam Nixon-Blaine, class of 05 St. Cloud
Ashley Nixon-Blaine, class of 07

Jennelle Philipczyk-Egan, class of 04 University of Mn.
Jenessa Philipczyk-Stillwater, class of 11

Amanda Stohr-SSP, class of 04 Mankato
Michelle Stohr-SSP, class of 06

Alexander Zebro-St.Francis, class of 06 University of Mn.
Olivia Zebro-St.Francis, class of 09

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... seethem at: 1/12/06 7:34 am

How about the Mackley kids from B'ville. Brittany, Melissa and Ariel. Awesome kids.

Re: Sister Act and speculation on the future
Which lucky team is gonna scoop up Monique & Jocelyn down the road? Will it be the same team for both? My guess is it will. Instant impact players for some fortunate coach.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ookyone at: 1/12/06 4:48 pm

Re: Sister Act and speculation on the future
i would guess und would get them as i believe their brother plays there.

Re: Sister Act and speculation on the future
That's what most seem to think.

Re: Sister Act
facman,

i was wondering if there are other sisters of 3 or more that have played together in the past at the same or better talent level as the mackley's. off the top of my head i can't think of any, but i would think there is one or two out there somewhere?

SSM Sisters and UND
Sure, they could follow their sibling to UND, but then he does not play on a team that is at the bottom of the conference.

Re: SSM Sisters and UND
arm,

i think we will see them turn things around in the near future. it really only takes a couple good recruiting classes in a row to get to the level of respectability. so many examples in the wcha just recently. the obvious one for me is msu and i'm sure there are others and looking at some of the recruits the teams in the wcha are getting leads me to believe the u of m and umd won't be king of the hill much longer.

i think the league is attracting much more and better talent than it was just 3-4 years ago because the league is now recognized as the best league in the nation. so i think we are seeing not only most of the better players from mn staying around but many excellent ones from out state that are coming here also.

Re: Sister Act
hubba,

I'm not aware of any more three, or more, sister acts. But you're probably right, there's more out there somewhere.

Improvement of WCHA Teams
I agree that UND will continue to improve -- they have some talent in place already. I think that one could make a case for any team in the league that they are moving in the right direction. But I still believe that for the forseeable future, teams like Wisconsin, UMD, and Minnesota will contend for league and national titles, while a more realistic goal for UND is a .500 record. MSU has nice players in their under classes, but the teams at the top of the league are loaded with frosh and sophs as well. Perhaps the facilities in Grand Forks will allow them to land a couple of blue chip recruits and accelerate their improvement, and maybe the twins will factor into that rise.
