I saw on NHL Network that Al McNeil passed away on Sunday at age 89. In 1971, won the Stanley Cup in his first year as coach of the Montreal Canadiens.
Not known so much for his offense as his defense & coaching & general manager skills. Died in Calgary. Cause of death unknown.
