Class AA Finals #3 Edina v #1 Minnetonka
I'm going to have a hard time watching this one. Would so much have preferred a Chanhassan or Rogers...

Rogers will be here one day but Chan never will if they keep losing transfers to Tonka. These are the two teams I did not want to see in the chip but one thing is certain, it’s going to be one heck of a good game tonight. These are the two best teams.

I agree these are the two best teams. But they don't seam to have a very exciting style of play. I don't see why Tonka doesn't score more goals. I had said Tonka by 3, but I'm moving that to 2, barring an ENG.StanleyCup55 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 6:42 am Rogers will be here one day but Chan never will if they keep losing transfers to Tonka. It's dangerous to bet against ESPG, apparently. Nonetheless, I've liked Edina for a while now and suppose I'll stick with them to win a close one.

Bobby Cowan is not the fastest skater or strongest kid. He works his tail off, gets to the right spots, and knows what to do with the puck. Before Edina moved him to the first line, I thought they were a well-coached, hard-working team who didn't have the juice to win it all. Now they're a game away. I think Minnetonka has a decent talent advantage. If Clarkowski is on his game, Edina is better between the pipes. The Hornets have the history of finding a way in big games. I have no idea what's going to happen tonight.

Tonka 4-0 and 1-0 over Edina earlier. SOG 28-17 and 44-19.
So Edina better block many shots.

Edina are out shooting and out hustling Tonka. The two things they have to do since their less talented. But they have never scored on them this year.

Late in the second, with Tonka up by 1 for a long time, Lou tells us this is Tonka's toughest game of the tournament. Ah, Lou? At that point in the quarterfinal Tonka was tied with Hill, and later Hill grabbed the lead. But sure Lou, sure.

Think I'd have replaced the Edina goalie with Tonkas for all team.

Congrats to Tonka. They are deserving champions. They were the best team all season. How about the fact that they survived the 2 OT Chanhassen game, the OT Hill game and then the knockdown, drag out slugfest that was tonight.
I am so, so proud of the Edina Hornets. I don't want to get too sappy, but they represented their community very well tonight. They take on the personality of their coach - gritty to the bone. They gave the Skippers everything they could handle. If it weren't for a couple pipes that were built too thick they might've won the darn thing.

I've never seen a puck bounce off one post to go straight across (from the overhead viewpoint) to the other, bounce off that one and out of harm's way.BlueLineSpecial wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 9:36 pmOne less coat of red paint on the pipes and that double-doink goes inBrodziak Fan Club wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 9:25 pm Congrats to Tonka. You know puck luck is on your side when that happens.
I'm happy the Skippers won but credit both teams for a heck of a game that could've gone either way.

How can I bring up Hill Murray in a thread about a Minnetonka-Edina championship? Congrats to Tonka; they were the best team from start to finish this season. They are deserving of the title. Congrats to Edina on a great season. They seemed to get the most out of what they were & went out playing a great game.

It was 48 hours before.
