Thanks.

After 2 Paaariods:
EGF - 1 - 0 - GFC
Shots on goal favor EGF 18 - 8.
EGF - 1 - 0 - GFC
Shots on goal favor EGF 18 - 8.
What is a Green Wave anyway?
Re: Games Friday 1-29
HM wins 1-0 over Edina. Very even game, either team could have won.
I'm sure there is no place to look this up, but that makes 3 straight shut outs for Hill over Edina. Bet that hasn't happened to Edina too many times...

This Hill team is good, but they're really having trouble scoring.
Re: Games Friday 1-29
Central outplayed EGF during the third period, obviously, to secure the win.TTpuckster wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 8:48 pm After 2 Paaariods:

My impression was that many of the EGF shots were fairly low percentage from the outside, and they had a hard time generating quality chances against Central. Was that correct? I watched the game on my iPad while Orono and Mound Westonka were playing, so my attention was divided.

Re: Games Friday 1-29
I wasn't confident there was a true high-end goal scorer on the team this year, and I assumed it would be a 'next man up' situation with some of their offensive losses from last year. But their lack of scoring is becoming more and more alarming with each game played.TheNightman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 12:06 am This Hill team is good, but they're really having trouble scoring.
Through 4 games, their forwards have 6 goals and 4 assists total. D and goaltending are up there with the best in the state, but I'm not sure how far you can go with the paltry offensive numbers on display right now. It might be time to play around with some line changes or something, see if Lechner can create a spark or find that magic combo of lines that optimizes output.
Looks like there might be free streaming for tonight's rematch....

Re: Games Friday 1-29
Going back to the earliest data I have (1997-98) season, nobody had shut out Edina three times in a row. Only Wayzata had done it twice. It would be interesting to see how this compares to other teams.

Re: Games Friday 1-29
Welllll, I know I am biased, but the 3rd period was pretty even with both teams getting some high grade chances. It could have went either way. EGF had 2 goals disallowed. The 2nd one was because the net was knocked off its mooring just as the goal was scored. It looked very much like the GFC goalie knocked it off. I don’t know what the official ruling is when that happens, but the goal did not count. I take solace in the fact that the Greenwave played much better this time, as did the goaltender. Maybe they can beat GFRR today.Stang5280 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 12:54 pmCentral outplayed EGF during the third period, obviously, to secure the win.TTpuckster wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 8:48 pm After 2 Paaariods:

Thanks TT, I appreciate the insight. I caught some of the aftermath of that disallowed goal, but wasn’t quite sure what had occurred. If the NFHS rule is the same as USA Hockey, which is usually the case, the referee has discretion to either award the goal or award a penalty shot depending on the certainty of the puck going in before the net was dislodged. Tough break for EGF, but they did play well and hopefully can take it to GFRR today. Those ND teams are a nuisanceTTpuckster wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:36 pmWelllll, I know I am biased, but the 3rd period was pretty even with both teams getting some high grade chances. And that covers some lean years in the late 90's and early 2000's for Edina. I figure it is hard to shut anyone out. And to do it 3 times in a row against a traditionally strong team is something. I can't find any team that has shut out HM twice in a row. Although in the early 2000's they scored only one goal in 3 games against Moorhead.east hockey wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 1:08 pmGoing back to the earliest data I have (1997-98) season, nobody had shut out Edina three times in a row. I take that back. In 1961 and 1962 De La Salle posted two consecutive shutouts of HM both with 4-0 scores....
