Minnesota State Mavericks

Post by MSUhockey39 »

MSU is starting to show signs of life after beating then 14th ranked St. Cloud State and then #2 ranked wisconsin in back to back weekends. How far do u think they can go in the playoffs?

Right now they're lined up against Colorado College, which is a tough matchup for them. CC's speed has taken advantage of MSU in the past. If St. Cloud or North Dakota jumped CC in the standings, I think you could see an upset from MSU with the way they have played the last two weekends.

They've got a nice four game winning streak going including sweeping Bucky last weekend. However, I'm not sure if that's a statement for how good Mankato has become or how badly the Badgers have fallen. I suspect it's more of the latter.

Going on the road in the playoffs will make things very tough, needless to say. My prediction is a three-game series, losing to CC.

But hey, at least they've won more than one game since New Year's. More than I can say for my Doggies.

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
Egomaniac since 2006

I was at the games against Wisky last weekend, and while the Mavs looked pretty solid, the Badgers looked absolutely out of it. Their defense had breakdowns, and Elliot still looked rusty. The Mavs are a team I would not want to play right now, they could perhaps sneak into the Final 5, but after that they will be outclassed.

I think that MSU could upset CC and make it to the Final FIve but I don't know how much farther they can go.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ockey39 at: 3/6/06 9:30 am

looks like its going to be Mankato verse UND, with North dakotas play being very up and down at times, and mankato has been on a hot streak, i think mankato has a chance into the final five.

MSU will knock off UND one of these next 2 games and go to the final five. They would have a good shot at winning the play in game if they have to play in that, but they won't go any farther than that. Minnesota will knock them off in a hurry in the final five without breakin a sweat.
