No need to worry about AA vs A conversation. We can share threads. I do think the coaches rank them 1-8, but I do imagine they random draw the last 3. Here's my AA seedings.
1. Andover
2. EP
3. Blake
4. HM
5. Moorhead
STA, LS, MG in some order.
I wholeheartedly agree, with Hill & Blake flipped:
1. Andover
2. EP
3. Hill
4. Blake
5. Moorhead
STA, LA, MG
Blake's overall body of work is probably a wee bit better than Hill's. Tough to overlook a 7-1 shellacking and the overall record of Hill against tourney teams. IMHO....
And why is EP at 2?
I picked them based on pre-season ranking and overall record. If we went off over-all record it is:
1. Andover
2. Moorhead
3. Blake
4. EP
5. Hill-Murray
Lakeville South
Maple Grove
St. Thomas Academy

Going off overall record, how would a 19-6-3 HM team be ahead of a 21-7 Lakeville South team?

There is this new metric that people use these days. It’s called strength of schedule. Sometimes they even got so far as measuring strength of victory. It’s funny how numbers work. Hill plays arguably one of the toughest schedules in all of hockey, Lakeview south does not. Look at some common opponents, Hill beat Edina twice, South lost to them. Hill beat MG, south lost to MG. Hopefully that helps you to understand that a teams record doesn’t mean everything.
You could look at it the other way, how can a 6 loss Hill team be ranked behind a 7 loss Lakeville south team? The last 13 games, Hill is 11–1-1. Their only loss is to Hermantown and they tied Chaska.

And why is Hill at 4......much less 3?
Hill beat Moorhead the last game of the season, wouldn’t that put them ahead of Moorhead in the rankings? Hill beat Blake 7-1, shouldn’t that put them ahead of Blake? We can play the “what if” game all night long, it all depends on how the 8 coaches that made the tourney view the body of work from each team.

Dude, he said “IF WE WENT OFF OVERALL RECORD” a 19-6-3 Hill team has a win % of 67.8% (19/28 if you need help there). Lakeville South has a win % of 75%. Understand now?

Nope, doesn’t help. One team has 6 losses, the other has 7. The 6 loss team should be ahead of the 7 loss team.

Tourney teams strength of schedule per Pagestat....
Eden Prairie - #4 overall
Moorhead - #7 overall
Hill Murray - #8
Lakeville South - #15
Blake - #18
Maple Grove - #20
STA - #23
Andover - #24
That is a very interesting stat. I really don’t remember a season in which the teams were so tight from top to bottom. I really hope the tourney ends up as good as it looks on paper!!
Regardless of who gets seeded where someone is gonna have to beat 3 good teams in a row. The way the season has gone I don’t trust anyone to do that. It feels like if we played this tournament 5 different times we could have 5 different winners. It should be an awesome weekend in St. Paul.
That’s what I’ve been saying I feel like this is an exceptionally strong tournament field. Usually there’s at least 1 bye team, if not 2. This year’s bye team is who? St Thomas? Maple Grove? Lakeview South? Those are all high quality teams, that alone makes a huge difference.
That means to me that the consolation trophy should be worth more this year. It won’t, but even Mariucci is going to have a great tournament Friday & Saturday. Not that the games won’t still feel anticlimactic to the players still, but it’ll be a much better field than typical.
Andover weakest strength in schedule of the eight participants, will that hurt them next weekend during the 3 days in the trenches versus 7 other powerhouses?
No one will beat EP...unless someone goes up by 2 on them. Then there’s a prayer. Of all the HT recruitment arguments that go on...this is the it ultimate recruited team. This gives the coaching staff big props. Joke

You never want a 2-0 lead in hockey. Just ask Kevin Gorg. Look what happened to WB last night. You can't argue with a PST winner.

Sorry, I was unclear. I went off number of losses, not winning percentage. And I wasn't saying that's how it would be, just throwing it out there as a way to look at it. No arguments needed, we'll see what the coaches decide probably today.
South had a pretty tough schedule, the computers and polls seemed to love the South Suburban Conference with half the conference in the top 25 much of the year. In hindsight those same polls were completely wrong as the SSC went down in flames while the Tradition Rich Metro East showed its might and has two teams still playing.
(Hastings getting screwed keeps it from being the Metro East Invitational)

There’s not a snowballs chance in hell STA will be seeded My prediction is they draw the Huskies
That would be a bad draw for them then, STA has won 13 of 14 and only allowed 1 goal in sections. Hottest team in the state, at least considering where they were 2 months ago.
I love this matchup...#1 Andover in the marquee 6pm matchup vs surging TE coached STA featuring junior speedster Jackson Hallum, will be fun watching him go head to head vs Wyatt Kaiser

With all the chatter about EP's transfer in from out of state, have I missed the discussion about STA's move in goalie or is it just accepted because it is STA?
