AA Rankings for 12/22/19

Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
Anyone know if any other top 10 team only runs 2 lines? Rosemount runs 2 lines 75% of the time. Both loses were against teams that ran 4 lines against them.
Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
I was at the game. Andover DID NOT run 4 lines, Thoreson & Kron we’re out a lot. Andover played 2 lines (more) plus their 3rd line. The 4th line might have got out one shift during each period (maybe)
Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
Their 4th line had 1 of the goals? (So I heard) I can’t confirm this. Rosemount’s lack of using their depth will not help going deep into the season. Lot of tired players.

According to some, and I think Karl agrees, Rosemount choked
Let's face it, as much as we hate to see it, Randover is going to the X

Rosemount needs to get the puck to 17 more...

Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
Full disclosure, I missed all but a couple minutes of the 1st period due to the beautiful parking situation at SLP during tournaments That said, during periods 2 & 3 the top 2 lines for Andover played more than the 3rd line & the 4th line wasn’t rolled in a regular shift. Rosemount most likely played pretty much 2 lines, have no disagreement on that. I wouldn’t say Rosemount choked, they did take a late penalty and were within mere seconds of killing g it off when Andover tied it on a shot from the point (not sure if it was tipped) but if they kill that penalty Rosemount likely wins. Andover is a more experienced team & it showed the way they pulled this one out. BTW Charlie Stramel was impressive, especially for a freshman, he already has good height & size & is skilledmuckandgrinder65 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 8:00 pm 59-

Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
Rosemount did not look tired in the 3rd. They took it to Andover pretty good in the 3rd. Rosemount’s had much better scoring chances. Andover’s third line had minimal ice as well and their fourth line didn’t play.
The difference in this game was Andover’s three power play goals (3 for 4). Andover has the best five power play kids on the ice and it showed!
Rosemount better figure out their Power Play quick or their season will end short.

Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
Not unusual at all. In regular season games in just the past couple years I've seen Duluth East dress a 4th line but not play them and Eden Prairie not dress a 4th once. In televised tournament play Edina has been nearly a two line team in recent memory.
Percentagewise a Top line playing 40-45% and a second going 35% leaves 20-25% for the 3rd.
Be kind. Rewind.

I don't want to beat this point to death but Andover rolled 4 lines the entire game until the middle of the third period. The third line was on the ice for Rosemount's tying goal and the fourth line was out for the go-ahead goal. It is all right there on YouTube.OBOY wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 11:05 pm

Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
They might play the 4th line, just please don’t try to characterize “it” like they play anywhere close to the same minutes as the top 2 lines. My son played on the 2016 Anoka team & Anoka birthed Andover in 2002, so I’ve kept an eye on Andover the last few years & am pulling for Andover to get threw the gauntlet in 7AA in 2020. If the 4th line scored the 5th goal, terrific, it was a win that showed character & battle tested experience against a really good Rosemount squad
Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
At least the Andover coaching staff trusts their 4th line to contribute.

0 points for 2 of the 3rd liners on Rosemount through almost half the season.

Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
One 4th liner has only 2 points but has only played in about 10 shifts all year and saw zero ice in a handful of games so do the math.
Re: AA Rankings for 12/22/19
lol...I’m pulling for your team dude, the players & the coaching staff. And I know that Andover likely does play & (on occasion) will roll 4 lines, but that’s usually when they are playing a weaker team (as the Grandpa of one of the leading scorers for Andover last year) who was a senior lamented to me during one of their gamesAnd I wouldn’t get too concerned about what Rosemount does, each team has there own identity. Andover went 3 for 4 on the power play, that’s what won the game yesterday...and they don’t roll 4 lines on the power play. Andover has a deep team and it’s nice when 3 or 4 lines can all contribute. But don’t confuse that with the fact that Kaiser, Wolfe, Thoreson, Kron, Clough, etc... your Elite League & returned from the USHL players...are the main reason Andover is a top 5 team in AA hockey and favored in 7AA to advance to Xcel. But they still have to get the monkey off their back. I truly hope they do Some others from Anoka...not so much

Andover has both the high-end elite talent and substantial depth. This group is about as deep as they come in HS hockeyhockey59 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 9:50 am lol...I’m pulling for your team dude, the players & the coaching staff. What is your obsession with the 4th line? The 4th line is not necessary. A lot of teams don’t even dress one. Anyone who played High School Hockey can tell you that kids that age who are properly conditioned can easily keep their legs throughout a game rolling 3 lines and even 2 lines for a reasonable amount of the game.

C’mon Jeffy, the answer to that question is too obvious to require further elaboration Think about it for a hot tick..& you’ll have your answer (with this particular poster)Jeffy95 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 9:59 amWhat is your obsession with the 4th line? I think Kaiser is main reason Andover is a top team.
He has the majority of their points and if he didn't come back its a different story

Kaiser is the elite talent but the chemistry of this group is what makes them special. You can tell Kaiser and Wolfe have played along side each other for a long time.hockey59 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 10:10 amKAISER...Wolfe, Thoreson, Kron...BINGOmuckandgrinder65 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2019 10:06 am I think Kaiser is main reason Andover is a top team.

Agree with Bus. They have succeeded Luedtke and Doctor as top D pair in state this year, with Boltmann and Williams not too far behind.
In seeing the Huskies a half dozen times in last two years , I have seen Kaiser beat on the outside
exactly ONCE , and that was Levandowski yesterday .
